Former Baywatch beauty Brooke Burns is in a Los Angeles hospital after
suffering a fractured neck bone in a pool mishap last week.
But the actress is expected to make a full recovery and "be back to
normal" in a few weeks, her manager, Barbara Stark, tells E! News.
Stark says that Burns was swimming at her home late last Thursday when
the accident occurred. She dove into the pool, but misjudged the depth
and hit her head on the bottom.
Burns, 27, sustained a "slight fracture in one of her neck bones,"
Stark says, but did not suffer a broken neck or spinal injury. The
actress is hoping to be discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by
Tuesday.
"She is very blessed and very lucky," says Stark.
Burns rose to fame as a star on Baywatch from 1998 to 2000. She also
starred in Fox's short-lived 2004 beach-based TV drama North Shore. Her
feature credits include Shallow Hal and Single White Female 2.
The Dallas-born beauty is also known for her off-screen liaisons. She
has a five-year-old daughter with ex-husband Julian McMahon (of
Nip/Tuck fame), and her relationship with Bruce Willis, which
lasted 10 months before ending in 2004, earned her plenty of face time
in the glossies.
Stark says Burns will be good to go by January, when she's slated to
begin filming the WB midseason replacement show Pepper Dennis with
Rebecca Romijn.

Is it kind of a bad sign when the bad guy in the new Bond film is cast

... I think Julian McMahon would make a great Bond.
He is very handsome, but too sweet to play Bond.

Ideally, I would like for the rumor to be not true as well, but not
necessarily for the reasons you enumerate. First of all, at 52, he is coming
perilously close to overstaying his welcome. Both Connery and Roger Moore
let themselves stay on too long. Secondly, you can't really burn any bridges
with Barbara and Michael. EON's been through this before many times. Connery
famously voiced his displeasure with the role, and Moore went into
renegotiations on every movie from Moonraker onwards. There was no end to
the amount of actors screentested for 007 while Moore was still in
negotiations. James Brolin was tested (and may have even been signed) just
in case Moore didn't follow through. Thirdly, I think if Brosnan comes back,
then the whole 4 year gap (assuming a movie does come out in 2006) will have
been a waste of time, as we all will be right back where we started.

I think Julian McMahon would be perfect. He has the suave sophistication of
Brosnan or Moore, but the grizzled, annoyed attitude of Connery or Dalton.
He plays a similar role on Nip/Tuck, but I dont' think the producers are
going to go for it. It's probably easier to state who it is I don't want,
and I can most assuredly tell you I don't want Daniel Craig. Heck, he's not
even young enough. If you're gonna go young, get Christian Bale. Or see if
Orlando Bloom can toughen up some.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The stars of FX's drama "Nip/Tuck"
are getting bonuses just in time for the start of production on the
Golden Globe-winning series' third season.
Sources said Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh have each received a
paycheck in the $280,000-$320,000 range, with FX providing most of the
money and producer Warner Bros. Television contributing a small
portion.
Both FX and WBTV declined comment on the matter Friday, while the
actors' reps either declined comment or didn't return calls. Production
on the third season begins Monday.
Talks between the actors, who are locked under multiyear deals, the
network and the studio about a possible salary bump had been going on
for months.
The lump-sum bonuses would beef up McMahon and Walsh's per-episode fees
to more than $60,000, according to sources. Co-star Joely Richardson is
also said to have received a bonus going into the third season, which
starts production today.
While actors sign long-term series deals when they are cast in pilots,
it is customary for the cast members on a hit show to renegotiate their
deals after the first two seasons and receive a salary increase.
Getting bonus checks instead of per-episode fee bump increases is more
unusual. Most recently, the principal cast members of ABC's red-hot
freshman dramedy "Desperate Housewives" were each given a bonus
reported to be about $250,000 four months into the run of the show.
Separately, Rhona Mitra is joining the cast of "Nip/Tuck" as a
recurring character.
Details about her character are being kept under wraps, but sources
said Mitra will play a gorgeous and tough New York detective who comes
to Miami to investigate the attack against Dr. Christian Troy
(McMahon).
Mitra most recently co-starred as Tara Wilson on the final season of
David E. Kelley's legal drama for ABC "The Practice" and the first
season of its spinoff, "Boston Legal."
