Why Jodie Foster'>Jodie Foster avoids the Oscars
March 27, 2006
While Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Charlize Theron were navigating the red
carpet crowd in high heels at the recent Academy Awards, Jodie Foster'>Jodie Foster was at
home in New York in her pyjamas.
Sitting with Foster on the couch were her two sons, Charles, 7, and
Christopher, 4.
In what has become a tradition for the Foster family, Chinese food is
ordered in and a noisy chanting ritual begins.
Foster, as a member of the Academy and a two-time best actress Oscar winner,
could don the gown and jewellery and attend Hollywood's night of nights each
year, but an evening in with takeaway, her kids and pyjamas is far more
appealing for the 43-year-old, who began acting at the age of three.
"Why not go?" Foster asks. "You have to be kidding.
"Sometimes I go when I'm not involved, but it's a lot better to watch it on
TV."
Besides, the Academy probably would not allow Foster and her kids to make
their noisy chants if they were sitting front row in the Kodak Theatre.
"In the early part of the show I always get my kids to chant the actor whom
I want to win," Foster, who is usually guarded about her home life, said.
"My sons don't see any movies so they don't care who wins.
"So they were like 'Rachel Weisz, Rachel Weisz'."
The chanting helped because Weisz did win the best supporting actress Oscar
for The Constant Gardener.
Foster would not reveal her other picks, giving a sarcastic "no comment",
but believes her good friend, Russell Crowe, deserved at least a nomination
for his performance in Cinderella Man.
Foster rated Crowe's snubbed portrayal of heavyweight 1930s boxer James
Braddock as better than his Oscar win for Gladiator in 2001 and his
nominated roles for The Insider (2000) and A Beautiful Mind (2002).
"Russell, I think, it was a better performance than what he has ever given,"
said Foster, who won her Oscars for The Accused (1989) and The Silence of
the Lambs (1992).
Foster may not be able to stay home for next year's Academy Awards ceremony
as she could be nominated for a startling performance in the new Spike Lee
directed action thriller, Inside Man.
Foster's Inside Man co-stars are Denzel Washington and Clive Owen and she
appears in probably fewer than 10 scenes, but The Los Angeles Times in its
recent review dubbed her performance as "picture stealing" and her character
as "the ultimate ice-princess power broker in a city of power brokers".
Inside Man is set in New York and Foster plays Madeline White, a mysterious
designer suit-wearing troubleshooter.
The billionaire owner of a Wall Street bank, played by Christopher Plummer,
hires her when a gang of bandits, led by Owen's character, takes over the
bank and holds 50 employees and customers hostage.
The bank's owner has a secret hidden in the bank's safe and wants it kept
that way and White coolly weaves her way into the drama, making deals with
the NYPD negotiator (Washington) and the bank robbers.
"I liked the idea she was somebody who held equal weight and power with
these other two men who are inhabiting this very masculine, powerful world,"
Foster said.
"They have guns, masks and beards, but she holds equal weight to them
without ever raising her voice, always saying please and thank you and with
a breezy, detached, amused quality because she's been through this before.
"She's been through it 20 times, but the two guys have only done it once."
Troubleshooters such as Madeline White exist, especially in Hollywood and
Washington, DC, she says.
"They clean up dirty laundry," Foster said.
"You call them to deal with a scandal.
"In Washington, the world of politics, we know there are people like this,
although, I don't know anyone who dresses like that.
"I love that she lives on Madison Avenue, she goes to the Hamptons on the
weekend, gets her hair bleached, fake tan, has the shoes and has her own
richly independent identity in this world of very macho guys."
Foster fans can expect to see plenty more of the actress in coming years
after she worked only sparingly while raising Charles and Christopher.
"My kids are at the age now where they are both in school," Foster, who
reportedly has been in a long-term relationship with producer Cydney
Bernard, explained.
Foster will soon begin shooting The Brave One, co-starring Terrence Howard,
in which she will play a woman seeking revenge from a brutal attack.
In 2007 she will direct and star alongside Robert De Niro in the legal
drama, Sugarland.
It will be a busy two years, but Foster says her kids remain her No. 1
priority.
"If I get to 7pm or 8pm and the director says 'wrap', I'm gone. I'm straight
home," she said.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Denzel Washington and director Spike Lee
scored the best opening of their careers on Sunday, as the heist
thriller "Inside Man" grabbed the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office
in North America with estimated ticket sales of $29 million.
The film, which also stars Clive Owen and Jodie Foster, was the top
picture overseas as well, with sales of $9.6 million from 18 countries,
including No. 1 openings in Britain and Germany, according to
distributor Universal Pictures.
Washington's previous best bow was the kidnap thriller "Man on Fire,"
which opened with $22.8 million in April 2004. Lee's best was the
comedy concert "The Original Kings of Comedy," with $11 million in
August 2000.
"Inside Man," which cost about $45 million to make, revolves around a
cat-and-mouse game between a bank robber (Owen) and a New York cop
(Washington). Foster plays an intermediary with her own agenda.
Universal said exit polling indicated that 68 percent of the audience
was aged 30 and older, and that male viewers comprised 54 percent.
Three-quarters of respondents said Washington was their main reason for
going. Universal Pictures is a unit of General Electric Co.'s NBC

GAME ON FOR 'STAY ALIVE'
Last weekend's champ, the futuristic terrorist drama "V for Vendetta,"
slipped to No. 2 with $12.3 million for the Friday-to-Sunday period,
taking its 10-day haul to $46.2 million. The film, starring Hugo
Weaving and Natalie Portman, has earned about $17.7 million from 24
markets. It was released by Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. Pictures.
The box office boasted two other new entries. Walt Disney Co.'s video
game thriller "Stay Alive," which surpassed expectations by opening at
No. 3 with $11.2 million; and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.'s comedy
"Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector," which opened at No. 7 with a
modest $7.1 million.
"Stay Alive" revolves around a group of youngsters who discover that
players who lose the titular video game die mysteriously.
Three-quarters of the audience was aged 25 and under, said Disney,
which had been hoping for an opening in the $7 million to $10 million
range. "Stay Alive" marks the first release under Disney's resurrected
Hollywood Pictures label, which will focus on genre films.
"Larry the Cable Guy," starring the popular blue-collar stand-up comic,
played mostly to male viewers over 21, Lions Gate said. The studio had
hoped for an opening in the $7 million to $9 million range.
Rounding out the top five, Paramount Pictures' hit romantic comedy
"Failure to Launch" fell two to No. 4 with $10.8 million, followed by
Walt Disney Pictures' comedy remake "The Shaggy Dog" with $9.1 million,
also down two places. Their respective totals stand at $63.9 million
and $47.9 million, both after three weeks. Paramount is a unit of

Clive Owen Nearly Snubbed Inside Man
2006-03-26 11:05:18
Actor CLIVE OWEN nearly turned down his latest film role opposite JODIE
FOSTER and DENZEL WASHINGTON, because he spends most of the movie behind a
mask.
The DERAILED star had doubts about accepting his role in INSIDE MAN, but
eventually decided join the cast of the bank heist film because it would
push the boundaries of his acting ability.
He explains, "I really had to think about it (accepting the part).
"An actor uses their face to express themselves, that's how you do a
performance and to have all of that taken away. It's strange.
"It was a very weird experience, because once we go inside the bank, I'm
masked for pretty much the rest of the movie.
"You've got these fantastic scenes with people like Denzel Washington and
Jodie Foster and you've got the mask on.
"It's very weird for them to act with as well, because they can't see the
eyes. It was odd."

Clive Owen Is On A Roll
New York, March 22, 2006
(CBS) With a resume that includes "Closer," "The Bourne Indentity," "Sin
City" and "Gosford Park," Clive Owen has gained a reputation as one of the
most talented actors working today. In his latest movie "Inside Man," he
plays a bank robber caught in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a
police detective played by Denzel Washington.
Appearing on The Early Show, the actor told co-anchor Harry Smith about this
new thriller.
"It's a classic heist movie," said Owen of his character Dalton Russell, who
attempts to pull off the perfect crime. "It's a bit of a throwback movie.
The man pulls up outside the bank. The guys get out. We take the bank over.
But very quickly you realize everything isn't quite as it seems. As the
thing develops, it's a very, very clever bank job and things keep changing.
Denzel Washington plays the cop who is constantly keeping up with me, trying
to keep ahead of the game."
The exchanges between Owen's villain and his Washington's good guy are the
centerpiece of the movie, which was filmed in New York City. "Denzel
Washington is, I think, is one of the great leading men of the last few
years," said Owen. "I think he's a brilliant actor. The whole experience was
great. I mean, shooting a movie in New York with Spike Lee, Denzel
Washington, Jodie Foster. I had a fantastic time."
Just a few years ago, Owen was just another actor trying to make a name for
himself. More recently, he's appeared in several much-talked-about movies
like "Closer" with Julia Roberts, ensemble thriller "Sin City," and
"Derailed" with Jennifer Aniston, all of which have helped catapult him to
leading man status.
The Golden Globe-winning actor is enjoying his recent string of high-profile
films. "I'm having such an amazing time," he said. "For me, success has
always been about trying to work with the best people. You look at a film
like this and from everybody, the director and all the actors, and I feel
very lucky and privileged just to be a part of it."
Much to the dismay of his adoring female fans, Owen spends much of the film
wearing a mask. "That was one reservation about taking it on is that he, for
a lot of the movie, has to be masked," said Owen. "No one can see the guy's
face. So I said to Spike, 'we'll get somebody else to play it and I'll voice
it.' But you do get to do things."
Owen also experienced Lee's technique of shooting with two cameras. "It's
very unusual and really fantastic," he said. Lee's practice, he says, "is
brilliant for actors, because you're both on all the time, so anything can
happen. You can go with anything because you're both being shot."
Even harried phone call scenes between bank robber and cop were shot in real
time. "We had a lot of phone calls where we were on two sets where Denzel
was on the other end of the phone," he said. "We had two crews and we shot
the phone calls live."
This intense filming technique may have contributed to the vividness of the
film. "I think what it is, the directors of photography, they don't like
doing that because it's very hard to shoot in both directions and make both
people look good," he said. "But I think Spike loves it so much and says,
this is the deal. Can you take it on?"
"He's like the man," said Owen of his "Inside Man" director. "I walk around
the town with Spike and people love that guy."
Before cinching the movie deal, actor and director went to a New York Knicks
game. Lee is a fanatic fan. "He is the king of Madison Square Garden," he
said. "He's part of the show."

ADD Abbie Cornish to the list of Aussiewood stars.
TheSomersault actress has signed up for The Golden Age, the sequel to the
movie Elizabeth, opposite Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush, Clive Owen and
Samantha Morton.
The 23-year-old actress will play Elizabeth Throckmorton, Sir Walter
Raleigh's secret wife and one of Queen Elizabeth I's ladies-in-waiting.
As such, Cornish is one of three leads after Blanchett, who was nominated
for an Academy Award for her first performance as Elizabeth, and Owen, who
plays Raleigh.
"There's a love triangle between Bess and Elizabeth and Sir Walter Raleigh
so the role's quite big, considering," Cornish said.
Cornish has just completed filming A Good Year opposite Russell Crowe for
Ridley Scott in France.
That hinted at her prospects - A Golden Age merely confirms them. She begins
filming that in London in April.
And working opposite Crowe ended any gossip that the two clashed while
pre-producing the much-hyped Eucalyptus.
"I just decided not to do it," Cornish said breezily. "It's funny, people
thought there was some story or thing behind it but I just decided not to do
it.
"I signed on for Candy long before Eucalyptus and I wanted to do Candy."
A wise move considering Eucalyptus wilted and Candy has just had a
well-received premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
And it helped that Neil Armfield's Sydney film had Australia's hottest young
actress star opposite Oscar nominee Heath Ledger and Geoffrey Rush.

But she will continue posing for amorous photos in public places with
whichever co-star consents to helping popularize her image.
Anyone else remember the items about Aniston and Clive Owen during their
shoot. Owen refused to participate and the rumours died.

I definitely don't understand why JA is villified the way she is. What
has she done that's so wrong? She wanted to stay in her marriage, for
God's sake! She only filed for divorce when it was obvious her husband
had already become attached to another woman and was not intent on
fixing his marriage. Aniston gave Brad Pitt a "get out of jail free"
card. She could have gotten very, very nasty and she chose not to. I
see her as only having taken the high road. So she gets sad and weepy
now and then. She is a human being. Now, Jessica Simpson is another
story. I can't share your views on that one....

Oh please. Did you see the movie? She is describing Clive Owen's
character, whose behavior is the catalyst for the plot of the movie.
The woman was promoting the movie when she made these statements. Had
she said them in an interview and was not talking about the movie then
maybe--yes--you could say she was talking about Brad Pitt.

Thank you for posting this. It's amazing how every time something's
written about this woman, the haters jump on it, twist and embellish it
to vilify Aniston. I don't see what this woman has done to deserve all
the venom. She seems perfectly inocuous to me. The same for Jessica
Simpson. I see nothing evil about either one of them. The only thing
they have in common is that they both have successful show biz careers.
Could it be jealousy? Or that "women hate other women" thing? The
males, Brad Pitt and Nick Lachey, seem to get a pass - they're seen as
victims of these "evil" women. I don't get it.

Sounds to me like she's describing her relationship with Pitt. He
should have just 'nipped it in the bud' instead of letting it spiral
downward.

This is not a veiled warning to Pitt. She is exactly describing the
character Clive Owen played. I saw the movie. What's the big deal? It
seems like this woman can't open her mouth without someone twisting her
words to sound like she's talking about Brad Pitt.

12 Shopgirl 493 -28% $1.8 $6.1
One has to give Disney some credit for scheduling Chicken Little to open the
weekend before Veteran's Day. It opened well out of the way of Harry Potter,
but is still positioned to reap the rewards from the long Thanksgiving
weekend, and what turned out to be the long Veteran's Day weekend as well.
After a huge sophomore Friday (this Friday's gross was actually bigger than
its first), Chicken Little stomped Zathura and left Jarhead in the dust.
Veteran's Day has quietly become a force to be reckoned with at the box
office. Veteran's Day 2004 landed on a Thursday, and The Incredibles grossed
over $11 million, with The Polar Express following close behind with a huge
$4.7 million. Almost $10 million was spent on Elf and Brother Bear (which
placed third that day) over Veteran's Day 2003 (a Tuesday). In 2001, when
Vet's Day was on a Sunday, Monsters, Inc. grossed $2.5 million more on the
last day of the weekend than the first day. Last week, I gave a small rant
on how Chicken Little was going to cluck in its second weekend, but I forgot
about Veteran's Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada. Because of the
long weekend, the box office is remarkably strong this weekend, but it still
wasn't enough to beat last year's totals.
So, because of Veteran's Day, but also completely on its own power, Chicken
Little is the number one film for the second consecutive weekend. Out to
3,658 venues, the little Chicken that could grossed a quite nice $32
million. It had a venue average of $8,755, and an internal multiplier of
2.8, which was skewed completely by the holiday on Friday. The animated film
drops only 20% in its second frame, but is now really setup for a tough fall
come next weekend. The $60 million production ($70 million if you include
3-D setup costs) has now earned $80.8 million after only ten days. The drop
will be nasty next weekend, but at least on paper, Disney has a huge hit in
this one, considering it's averaging almost $8 million per day through its
first three days. The Incredibles was at $143.3 million after ten days, and
Monsters, Inc. was at $122.2 million after the same amount of time. On
paper, the Chicken Little score so far looks great, but when you look at the
influence of Veteran's Day, you have to adjust your thinking somewhat. Let's
wait and see what happens next weekend.
Well back in second spot, is another kid's flick, but this one aimed at the
young teen set and directed mostly towards boys. Zathura is our runner-up,
and its $14 million gross this weekend probably won't endear the production
to its parent, Columbia Pictures/Sony. Released quite wide to 3,223 venues,
Zathura, the semi-sequel to Jumanji, had an opening weekend venue average of
$4,343. While $14 million is nothing to sneeze at, it's not much more than
the $11 million that Jumanji opened to ten years ago, and that one had Robin
Williams instead of Tim Robbins. Jumanji was a word-of-mouth Christmas
movie. It opened around the middle of December and had ten consecutive
weekends earning more than $1 million. It dragged itself kicking and
screaming over the $100 million mark, which in 1995 was still saying
something. This one will have to work a lot harder to reach that mark, as
Jumanji used Christmas week to push its total above $100 million. Reviews
were actually better for Zathura, but it's a different era at the box
office.
The biggest surprise from an opener this weekend comes in the form of
Derailed, the Jennifer Aniston/Clive Owen flick that took a beating from
critics. Despite playing under the radar, moviegoers sought out the stars
this weekend and the thriller earned a higher than expected $12.8 million
from 2,441 venues. That gives it a decent average of $5,243 - about $1,000
better than Zathura. Derailed was originally a Miramax pickup from Di
Bonaventura Pictures (Constantine, Doom and the upcoming Transformers
feature) but is now considered a Weinstein Company release. Whatever the
case, the start for Derailed is huge, as a film like this could have easily
been left behind, but Jenifer Aniston's relationship troubles may have given
this one an opening weekend lift. I still don't think Clive Owen is a big
draw - yet - but a couple of more films like this one, and the Sin City star
will be given more headlining roles (except Bond, somebody already blew it
on that one). Look for Derailed to fade quickly, but still be a feather in
the cap at the Weinstein offices.
For the Friday-to-Sunday portion of the weekend, Get Rich or Die Tryin' has
to settle for $12.5 million and fourth spot, but it has earned $18.2 million
since its open on Wednesday, which isn't bad at all. Released to a
smaller-than-expected 1,652 venues, Get Rich had a winning venue average of
$7,566. Was Paramount expecting the $50 million open that Eminem and his 8
Mile enjoyed? I hope not, because that was Universal marketing at its best,
and Get Rich failed to get the critical notices that 8 Mile had. For Get
Rich, reviews were downright awful. Only 16 reviewers out of a possible 88
gave this one a thumbs up, leading to a nasty average of 18%. So, while
reviews were Glitter-ish, box office was not, which should give Paramount
some relief.
Falling from second last weekend to fifth this weekend is Jarhead, Sam
Mendes' crack at the first war in Iraq. After opening to a fantastic $27.7
million last weekend, Jarhead got shelled a bit this weekend, as it lost a
large 56% of its audience, grossing $12.3 million. The holiday didn't help
Jarhead or the other adult films too much, so the Jake Gyllenhaal flick was
apt to fall down the rungs somewhat. Still, the $70 million production has
now earned $47.1 million, but I think the questionable word-of-mouth is
holding it back a bit.
Saw II lands in sixth this weekend, but the news is actually pretty good for
the horror sequel. For the second weekend in a row, the drop isn't all that
bad for the Lions Gate release. Saw II grossed $9.4 million over its third
weekend of release, a drop of only 44%. Again, I say only because this is
the third weekend of a horror sequel, when the news usually goes from bad to
worse. However, with this one, we have a $31 million open, a 47% drop to
$16.9 million last weekend followed by another $9.4 million this weekend.
Don't forget that Saw II cost a tiny $4 million to make, so as it steams
toward $100 million one has to wonder where this will end up in the most
profitable films of all time category. Currently Saw II sits with $74.2
million. Who thought a Donnie Wahlberg/Shawnee Smith film could gross $100
million?
The Legend of Zorro finishes seventh this weekend, as the Sony release
begins to fade. Zorro earned $6.6 million this weekend, and also got a
little help from Veteran's Day as the drop came in at 34%. So far the $80
million production has grossed $39.5 million, but it has also earned over
$70 million in overseas business.
Eighth goes to Prime, as the Meryl Streep/Uma Thurman flick held well again
this weekend. Prime grossed a little under $4 million in its third weekend,
and after being almost discarded after its $6 million open, the film has now
dropped 17% last weekend and 23% in this frame. Currently, the comedy sits
with $19 million, almost as much as its $20 million production cost.
Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story is ninth this weekend, and despite its
ranking, had another good frame. The Dakota Fanning/Kurt Russell movie
earned another $3.8 million this weekend, down only 21% from the previous
frame. Dreamer has now earned a serous $28.9 million, and will now will most
likely be a bigger hit on video shelves because of its theatrical
performance.
Tenth is another big surprise. Despite being at only 215 venues, Pride and
Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley, managed a gross of $2.8 million this
weekend. That's a huge average of $13,041 and the opening gross pushes other
art films like Good Night, and Good Luck (11th with $2.6 million) and
Shopgirl (12th with $1.8 million) out of the top ten. BOP will have more on
Pride and Prejudice in the weeks to come.
Overall, again thanks to the Veteran's Day holiday, the top ten films at the
box office managed to gross about $110 million. While a great score, last
year had the second weekend of The Incredibles ($50.3 million), and the
opening of The Polar Express ($23.3 million), making last year a tough
weekend to beat. Last year's top ten earned about $130 million, so the trend
versus last year continues this weekend.

Aniston not nearly 'Derailed' in real life
November 6, 2005
BY CINDY PEARLMAN
NEW YORK -- "You know how some destructive relationships can keep you
trapped ..." Jennifer Aniston is saying.
On an early Sunday morning in New York City, America's magazine cover girl
catches herself mid-sentence, stops and smiles nervously.
She's not talking about her breakup with Brad; she's talking about her
character's attraction to one of the men in her latest film.
Aniston seems to have an internal mute button that flashes when she says
anything that could be misconstrued -- even something as innocent as a
character assessment.
She stars in the new thriller "Derailed," opening Friday, and it's safe to
say that Aniston's own life derailed a bit during this last year, when she
became the ex-Mrs. Brad Pitt.
"I'm not a role model or the poster child for how to do anything," she
cautions. Then she breaks her patented "don't talk" motto and confesses,
"This was my first time at this particular picnic.
"It was all about family, great support, great friends and work. What I went
through is nothing out of the ordinary. People walk through this stuff all
the time."
Yes, people go through divorces all the time, but they're not marked with
your ex running around the globe with Angelina Jolie and her two children.
Most divorces aren't played out in global headlines, either. But just in
case you were wondering, Aniston insists she has never read any of the rags.
"It's toxic," she says. "I don't pay attention to it."
What she has paid attention to was establishing a film career.
"I can say that it's good to have a creative outlet. I love having work."
It's ironic that Aniston's personal life hit the bricks at the same time her
professional one heated up. After 10 years playing Rachel Green on
"Friends," she's trying her hand at movie stardom. To that end, she just
wrapped the curiously titled "The Break Up," with Vince Vaughn. Aniston
calls the shot-in-Chicago film "fated."
"It's been cathartic and fantastic," she says.
How fantastic? More on that in a minute.
"Rumor Has It," directed by Rob Reiner and co-starring Mark Ruffalo and
Kevin Costner, is due out in December. Aniston plays an obituary writer who
believes she's the daughter of the couple who created the story for "The
Graduate." Aniston will also star in 2006 in "Friends With Money," with
Catherine Keener, Frances McDormand and Joan Cusack. She plays a maid who
laments the fact that all her friends are married except for her.
The first test of her movie mettle comes with "Derailed," directed by Mikael
Hafstom. Aniston got the during a far different time in her life. She
was hanging out in Italy with Pitt at George Clooney's Lake Como villa.
English star Clive Owen was already attached to "Derailed," which revolves
around a suburban Chicago ad man who strays from his mundane life when he
meets a sexy woman on a train.
It's not the largest role in the movie, but size doesn't matter to Aniston.
"I actually prefer this. It's more interesting," she says. "And I would
never take a part based on it being the lead."
The plot takes a quick, dark turn, and Aniston wasn't sure she could go to
that place at the time. But Julia Roberts, who at the time was starring with
Owen in "Closer," sang his praises and, as the stories go, helped push
Aniston over the edge. But she still worried about it.
"There was a moment of, 'Oh gosh, I hope I can pull this off," Aniston
admits.
The result is the film might even debunk the American sweetheart image she
created over her decade as our best Friend?
"Well, God, I hope so," Aniston replies. "Actually, that America's
sweetheart label gets put on a lot of people. I don't even really pay that
much attention to labels.
"I'm not trying to shake anything," she announces. "I'm just following my
own instincts and grateful for the work that comes to me."
Coming to Chicago to film back-to-back films -- "Derailed" and "The Break
Up" -- helped give her a new setting to contemplate the next chapter in her
life, which, she has stated for the record, may well include a new
relationship and definitely children at some point.
During her summer in Chicago, Aniston was cloaked by a bodyguard to deflect
those with long lenses. And then there was the other guy she snuggled with
at night. His name is Norman and he's a Welsh corgi-terrier mix.
And then there was Oprah.
"I just love her so much. She makes you feel like we're all figuring it out
together," Aniston says of the Chicago talk-show host. "She has just been a
very good friend to me."
She adds, "Honestly, I did love Chicago. I loved filming there. The people
were so kind and respectful. They really left me alone."
Aniston says the strangest place she was recognized was in the Peninsula
Hotel's steam room.
"What can you do?" she says with a shrug. "It's still a great steam room."
Speaking of steamy, if you believe the tabloid pictures, she returned a few
weeks ago for a chapter that could be dubbed "The Make Out." Photographers
snapped Aniston and "Break Up" co-star Vince Vaughn curled up and cozy on
her balcony at that very same Peninsula Hotel. With her hair messed up and
wearing no makeup, she certainly didn't look like Brad Pitt's tortured ex.
She insists she's not, as the tabloids have indicated, moving to Chicago.
"How do these things get started?" she says with a sigh.
She has called Vaughn a friend.
"I adore him," she said recently. "He's delicious and funny. He's got all
the colors of the rainbow. But I don't want to be a rebound girl. I feel
like it will happen when it happens."
Additional questions about her recent clinches in Chicago are greeted with a
firm "No comment."
Aniston wants to wrap her mind around work and relaxing.
"I'm always looking for good work -- dramatic, comedic, whatever it is.
These movies like 'Derailed' and 'The Break Up' came along at a perfect
time. It was just sort of fate."
For now, Aniston is "enjoying the solitude."
As for the next whirlwind in her already breezy life, she shrugs and
insists, "I don't know what's going to happen next."
She plans to take a little time off. Could falling love be on the agenda?
"I have so much love in my life," she says. "I'm very lucky."

Aniston bruised by raunchy movie scenes
03/11/2005 - 10:29:47
Jennifer Aniston's sex scenes with her Derailed co-star Clive Owen were so
rampant she suffered bruising to her legs during filming.
The former Friends star, whose character has a torrid affair with a married
executive played by Owen, confesses she was so involved in the action she
didn't feel any pain.
She says: "I got some good bruises on my legs. It wasn't pretty.
"But your adrenaline is running so you don't even feel it."
