That's not only stupid and inaccurate but rather ironic considering the
following, to which the kindest reaction is pity and the aptest caption is
"oink".
Quit hating. You live for Elisabeth Shue.

Shue gives up leading actress struggle
22/05/2005 - 14:11:55
Actress Elisabeth Shue has finally come to terms with her future as a
supporting actress - after her turn as leading lady in flop 1997 movie The
Saint received a critical mauling.
Shue insists she's happier since she gave up her struggle to be the central
female in movies, because she can spend more time with her family.
And she now believes supporting characters are more fun to play than leading
roles, because they don't have to be as convincing.
She explains: "I've given up on worrying, finally. Now I'm enjoying doing
supporting roles more than I expected.
"At first, it was a hard hit to the ego, after wanting to be the centre of
every film. But now I can see the positive effects for my family in not
having such long times away.
"And supporting characters are usually more interesting, because they are
not the lead, they don't have to be sympathetic, realistic, likeable human
beings."

Shue recalls Back to Future filming 'blur'
16/05/2005 - 10:36:54
Actress Elisabeth Shue can barely remember making hit movie sequels Back To
The Future Part II and III - because they were shot back-to- back just six
months after her brother's tragic death.
The 41-year-old joined her brothers on holiday in France to celebrate her
breakthrough part in 1988's Cocktail, but her 27-year-old sibling died in
front of her after impaling himself on a tree branch.
And Shue says she has few memories of her part as Jennifer Parker/McFly in
the popular 1980s sci-fi comedies, because she was still mourning his death.
She says: "The films were a blur. I was still in shock. His death stripped
away the dishonesty in my life."

Oh, people need to chill out. I don't even know who Kathy Griffin is, but I
got a chuckle out of it.
Maybe because Dakota Fanning (whose name makes me break out in hives) is so
fucking annoying in that TV trailer for the new movie, in which she plays
the *darkly anointed* (with hair dyed to match, natch) child who sees evil
spirits or whatever in that movie with De Niro (I think) and Elisabeth Shue.
Kind of like today's answer to Poltergeist--- the kid even says something
like "They're HEEE-eeeeeeeeeeeere..." but it's not that, it's something
else... Oh yeah.. "Come out come out wherever you are...."

Shue goes back to University
12/01/2005 - 18:50:52
Leaving Las Vegas star Elisabeth Shue has joined the ranks of Hollywood's
cleverest minds after completing a political science degree at Harvard
University.
The actress took a year out of her acting career to finish the degree she
started at Wellesley College long before she became an actress.
She says: "I needed to finish at Harvard and I had one semester left. It was
just something I had to do which I felt was important to complete.
"Frankly I was really looking forward to a break and reinvigorating my mind
and learning and just to see what it was like to go back to school as a
woman, and how would I respond to learning.
"It was really good to want to be in school, to choose your classes -
because they're difficult. I chose the best classes and had the most
incredible professors and I had so much work but I welcomed it because I was
old enough to know that that's what it's all about."

By TOM RACHMAN, Associated Press Writer
VENICE, Italy - Tom Cruise was playing cold and heartless at the Venice Film
Festival on Friday for his hit-man role in "Collateral," while director Gregg
Araki demonstrated a less-mainstream side of U.S. cinema with "Mysterious
Skin."
Also, two of the 21 films in competition for the Golden Lion awards were being
screened on the festival's third day: "Rois et Reine" ("Kings and Queen") by
French director Arnaud Desplechin and "Udalionnyj Dostup" ("Remote Access") by
Svetlana Proskurina of Russia.
The Russian film at least appeared unlikely to garner many awards, when its
incoherent story line led some audience members at a press preview to walk out
and others to boo loudly at the end.
Director Michael Mann's thriller "Collateral," which was not in competition for
an award, got a far warmer greeting. Cruise plays against type as a
psychopathic murder machine, while Jamie Foxx is a hapless but goodhearted
cabbie with the misfortune to pick up a hit man.
"Mysterious Skin," featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Elisabeth Shue, is a
work that had been on Araki's mind for years until he finally managed to
convert Scott Heim's novel for the screen. The film, in competition in the
secondary category Horizons, tells the tale of a disturbed young man who
believes he was abducted by aliens.
The 61st Venice Film Festival, which is held on the small Lido island off
central Venice, ends Sept. 11 with an awards ceremony hosted by Sophia Loren.

- If her hyperkinetic lip-synching of "And Then He Kissed Me," performed under the opening credits of Adventures in Babysitting (1987), is the most memorable thing this wholesome, girl-next-door-pretty blonde has yet contributed to the screen, it's hardly her fault. Her effective supporting turns in The Marrying Man and Soapdish (both 1991) suggest she has a barely tapped reservoir of comedic skill. To date she's taken a backseat to many of her male costars: She was Ralph Macchio's romantic interest in The Karate Kid (1984), Tom Cruise's in Cocktail (1988), and Michael J. Fox's in Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Part III (1990). Even more embarrassingly, she was upstaged by a lust-crazed chimp in Link (1986)! Other credits include Heart and Souls and Twenty Bucks (both 1993).
