Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith are a lot like Jagger and Richards. Yes, they can record solo albums and tour with a new band lineup for a while. But everyone knows that there is just a certain type of synergy that these two pairs have when performing together. If Richards gives it up, then so should the rest of the Stones' band members. Personally, I think that The Rolling Stones should have retired several years ago. Their Superbowl performance this year was quite possibly the worst that I have ever witnessed. And I've seen several Aerosmith concerts back in the 70s when the band would make a feeble attempt at performing live while completely intoxicated. Oh, not to mention being under the influence of heavy narcotics to boot! And I agree with you about the current Skynyrd lineup as well. They suck in 3-D!!! That red, white and blue tune was over and beyond weak. Queen, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Lynyrd Skynyrd should all retire. The guys in Aerosmith can still put on a great show now that they're clean and sober. In fact, it's only been a couple of months back that they were still putting on some blistering live performances. When they play their old school material, it punts some major rump. I don't care for very much of their new school, commercial, pop material. That's just not the Aerosmith that I grew up listening to and truly enjoying the music of. I like the music off of their Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, and Rocks albums. There's some great rock music contained within these three gems.
