David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have both signed on to star in the
second X-Files feature film.
The movie will pick up four years after the 2002 finale that left
agents Mulder and Scully on the run from the FBI.
Executive producer Frank Spotnitz claims the is nearly finished,
saying, "We've worked out most of the plot."
He claims the sequel will be light on mythology, adding, "It's very
liberating to be freed of that."
The film will begin shooting after X-Files creator Chris Carter and
20th Century Fox settle a lawsuit over syndication profits.

and filmmaker Julian Ozanne, are separating, the Daily Mail of London
reported yesterday.
The couple married in December 2004 and has been living together in

series "The X Files," also recently received a Best Actress nomination

The X-Files star Gillian Anderson was thrilled when she moved back to
Britain, because she could finally be herself again.
The petite 37-year-old loves living in laid-back London, where she lived
until the age of 11, as she never feels judged or hassled - but she insists
it is a different story in America.
She says, "It's easier to be myself here. I can go out wearing whatever the
hell I want, no matter how ridiculous it looks. If I do that in America,
people look at me like I'm insane.
"There are aspects of the British press which are very intrusive, but then
you'll go to a premiere and someone will ask permission to take a photo, and
when you say, 'That's enough,' they'll back off.
"In the States, you go to a restaurant and there are people lined up outside
with eight-by-10s (publicity shots) of you."

After battling through a divorce, several failed relationships and a flagging
acting career, Gillian Anderson'>Gillian Anderson has, finally, turned her life around.
She’s now married to the man of her dreams, photographer Julian Ozanne,
and is starring alongside Robert Carlyle in new British flick, The Mighty
Celt,which comes out today.
Gillian, 37, admits that she’s always made bad decisions when it comes
to men, but she’s sure she has made the right choice this time.
“It’s changed from my being attracted to dangerous men,” she says,
“who might be an addict and completely self-destructive, to a very
grounded, intelligent, sexy photo-journalist.”
Her new film is a long way from the supernatural plots of The X Files,
the TV series which made her name. The Mighty Celt is set among
the tough estates of Belfast, and Gillian plays the mother of the film’s
star, a young boy who strikes up a friendship with a greyhound trainer
played by Ken Stott.
But it’s not only her acting CV which heavily features The X Files – her
nine years on the show was also an emotionally intense experience for
Gillian. She married Clyde Klotz, an art director on the series, in 1994,
had a baby daughter Piper, now 10. She divorced three years later
and had alleged affairs with cast members.
“I feel that it was a mixed experience,” reflects Gillian. “I was expecting
it to be more difficult to leave than it was. I didn’t want to work again
for such a long time afterwards. Just the thought of getting back onto
a set seemed like the worst idea in the world. There’s a certain
incestuousness that takes place on a set, whether you’re there two
months or nine years.”
The hardest thing about appearing in the show was not being able to
spend enough time with Piper.
“Time was so precious to me back then and I couldn’t bear to waste it,”
she says. “I was shooting 16-hour days and I didn’t have time for my
daughter, my friends or even my dog.”
Despite having been rated TV’s No 1 fantasy female by millions of men
in numerous polls at the time, Gillian reveals that producers did not think
she looked good enough for the part of Scully.
“They didn’t think I looked sexy enough,” she admits. “They wanted a
leggy blonde with big breasts, but it dawned on them that perhaps she
wouldn’t look studious enough for Scully. So they ended up picking little me.”

before her American parents moved to Crouch End in North London.
They then went to Grand Rapids, Michigan when she was 11. Gillian
was teased for her English accent and started to rebel. At 14, she

dyed her hair purple, grew dreadlocks and had criss-cross patterns

Gillian had several brushes with the law and was arrested on graduation
night for trying to glue the locks shut at her school.
“I had been the only child and the centre of attraction for 13 years,”
she explains. “Then my mother had two more children and I didn’t
mean the whole world to my parents any more. I just needed attention.”
Gillian chose to sleep around as a means of feeling wanted. “I started
early, but didn’t enjoy sex until I was 22,” she admits.
Her troubled past may help explain the difficulty she’s had settling down
with the right man. After her divorce from Klotz in 1997, she started
seeing British actor Adrian Hughes, followed by Hollywood producer
Randy Stone, a former beau of Barbra Streisand. After Randy, actor
Rod Rowland appeared on the scene with Gillian saying, “Rod is the
first man who has made me happy. It’s the real thing. He satisfies
my every need”.
Despite those words, Rod was ditched in favour of New York restaurant
owner Keith McNally. But now she has found happiness and real love
with Kenyan-born Julian. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony
last December with a handful of close friends and family on Shella

New director Duchovny's 'D' takes it personally

On "The X-Files," he was the serious, mysterious David Duchovny, the one who
spawned a million geek-girl fantasies about FBI agent Fox Mulder.
During TV interviews, he's the self-mocking David Duchovny, the one helping
to keep alive the art of the quirky talk-show appearance.
And with "House of D" - his writing-directing debut, opening tomorrow -
Duchovny, 44, turns wistful, looking back on his childhood in New York,
circa 1973.
"I think this movie is more true to who I am than my persona, which is not
so much glib as sort of ironic," says Duchovny, before heading to the former
site of the House of D - the Women's House of Detention, demolished in
1974 - at Sixth Ave. and 10th St. in Greenwich Village.
"Audiences may learn that about me through the movie. [The rest] is sort of
a character I created to appear in public.
"People will say 'House of D' is a personal film, but what makes it personal
is that it's about some of my own experiences. And I think the only way to
make a movie that's truly universal to everyone is to actually be very
specific.
"In Hollywood, they say the phrase 'personal film,' as if you did it for
yourself. It's not that way at all. I want to connect with people."
In the movie, 13-year-old prep school student Tommy Warshaw (Anton Yelchin)
gets advice on how to impress the girl of his dreams from an unlikely
source: an incarcerated hooker (Erykah Badu) at the House of D.
He also helps a mentally challenged co-worker, Pappas (Robin Williams),
deliver meat around the city, and deals with a drug-addicted mother (played
by Duchovny's wife, Tea Leoni). Duchovny appears at the beginning and end as
the adult Tommy, now living in Paris and telling his story to his family.
"About 14% of the movie is from my own life," says Duchovny. "I figured it
out: I did deliver meat as a kid, but my mother did not have a pill problem,
so those cancel each other out. ... Oh, and the French wife I have in the
movie is fictional."
Duchovny - whose father was a writer from Brooklyn and whose mother was a
schoolteacher from Scotland - grew up in the East Village and attended the
Grace Church School on Ninth St. and Broadway. He and Leoni met in 1996 and
were married at Grace Church. Now living in L.A., they have two children,
Madeleine, 6, and Kyd, 3.
Duchovny earned degrees in English literature from Princeton and Yale and
started acting on a fluke, trying out for numerous TV series in the late
'80s before getting bit parts in films and the soft-core cable series "Red
Shoe Diaries."
"Even before I did any movies, TV people said I was 'too movie-ish,'" he
says. "I do think the style I brought to 'The X-Files' was kind of
cinematic."
He says he didn't get comfortable with acting until the third season of the
popular sci-fi drama, which began in 1993. "I'll catch a rerun sometimes,
and if it's an early episode, I'll say to my wife, 'Look how bad I am.'"
He says another "X-Files" movie is out there (the show spawned a big-screen
version in 1998), and that he and series co-star Gillian Anderson are on
board.
"Gillian wants to do it, I want to do it, and ["X-Files" creator] Chris
Carter wants to do it," he says. "We just have to iron out some details with
the studio."
But the program that made him famous spoiled him for other work. "I consider
'X-Files' to be the best that TV can be," he says. "I didn't want to take
something that wasn't going to be good. ... Actors only have so many tricks.
So I think that it was good to wait a couple years before coming back."

Gillian Anderson ... plans to play Martha Gellhorn, inset, in her new film.
Former X-Files star Gillian Anderson has acquired the feature film rights to
Gellhorn: A Twentieth-Century Life by Caroline Moorehead.
She aims to star in the movie about one of the first female war
correspondents, according to Variety today.
Martha Gellhorn (1908-1998) was an American-born author and journalist who
became one of the first female war correspondents.
She covered the major international conflicts of her lifetime, from the
Spanish Civil War to Vietnam to the Cold War.
Her second husband was Ernest Hemingway, but the pressures of working in a
male-dominated field led to their bitter divorce.
Personal and romantic happiness eluded her despite her professional success.
According to the report the film will focus mostly on the acrimonious
marriage between Gellhorn and Hemingway.

luster she had years ago, Paris Hilton too skanky, Hilary Duff about to

that other *OTHER* Moore not interesting enough (Mandy), and Lindsay
Lohan becoming too overrated (she lost to Sarah Michelle Gellar in the
Sexiest Woman of 2004 poll, BTW), it's pretty clear that just like
Cattrall, younger guys are also really hot for 44-year-old Julianne
Moore...only of course that she's married with two kids. Why is that?
Oh well, at least her last film The Forgotten opened at #1. Since it was
PG-13, those teens did help contribute to its box office success. Let's
see how the DVD figures will hold up.

Former X-Files star Gillian Anderson has quietly tied the knot with her
longtime boyfriend, former journalist and documentary filmmaker Julian Ozanne,
the actress's London rep confirms to PEOPLE.
The spokesperson provided no other details, but guests tell PEOPLE the low-key
affair took place on Dec. 29 on Lamu's Shella island, off Kenya's Indian Ocean
coast. Anderson, 36, who played special agent Dana Scully on the FOX sci-fi
series, and Ozanne, 42, were married in a civil ceremony by the local district
officer and their union was blessed by a Kenyan priest.
The event was attended only by Anderson's immediate family – who had flown
over from the U.S. – and a handful of close friends in the gardens of London
socialite Kate Barker's Moroccan-style beach house. A Kenyan choir sang hymns
in Swahili, and the bridesmaid was Gillian's 10-year-old daughter, Piper, from
her previous marriage (to movie art director Clyde Klotz).
After the ceremony, the couple hosted a dinner of fresh lobsters, crab, and
king-size prawns, and fireworks and a fire dancer provided the backdrop.
Veteran London Times Africa correspondent Jonathan Clayton, one of the groom's
friends, delivered the keynote address and reminisced fondly of their times
together covering the African wars of the 1990s when Julian was a correspondent
with the London Financial Times.
Clayton, when contacted by PEOPLE about the wedding, said: "I can confirm it
took place. It was a spectacular occasion. They were both delighted, but I
would rather not go into details."

Anderson to finally marry Kenyan fiance
Gillian Anderson is "excited" to be finally marrying her Kenyan fiance - 16
months after they cancelled their wedding.
The former X-Files star was forced to postpone her nuptials to journalist
Julian Ozanne following a series of setbacks last year, which included a
hospital stay after falling down a flight of stairs at the couple's £1.4m
(?2m) London home.
Anderson says: "We are so happy and excited. We're marrying on the island of
Lamu."
Of her chosen wedding destination, Anderson explains: "I've always felt an
incredible pull towards Africa and once I got there all of a sudden it made
sense.
"It's just kind of lodged in my soul."

Abortion film sweeps British film awards

LONDON (Reuters) - Mike Leigh's moving portrayal of a back-street
abortionist in 1950s London has swept the British Independent Film Awards,
taking six awards, including Best Film and Best Director.
"Vera Drake" also snared the Best Actress award for Imelda Staunton and Best
Actor for Phil Davis.
The film, which deals with a working class abortionist whose views are at
odds with the society around her, found similar success at the Venice Film
Festival, where it took the Golden Lion for Best Film and Best Actress for
Staunton.
The Best Documentary award went to "Touching the Void", a gripping true
story about climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates who reached the peak of the
Siula Grande in Peru, only to face death on the way down.
"Oldboy", a violent Korean film about a man locked up in a hotel room for 15
years who seeks revenge, took the prize for Best Foreign Film.
The ceremony late on Tuesday was attended by a raft of stars, including
Christian Slater, Kelly Brook, Billy Zane and Gillian Anderson.
The British Independent Film Awards were established in 1998.
