Jagger gets his soul cleansed for £1
10:08am 2nd March 2006
The offer was made by a roadside shaman, who was possibly unaware of who Sir
Mick was - or, indeed, quite how much cleansing the veteran rocker might
require after 40 years of high living.
The bizarre scene took place as Sir Mick and his son Lucas toured the
ancient Mexican pyramids of Teotihuacan.
After the singer handed over the small fee, the bandana-wearing shaman set
about purging the 62-year-old's body and soul of 'bad energy', using tree
branches, various amulets and smoke from tobacco leaves.
Young Lucas, wearing designer sunglasses, looked on with fascination as the
plume of smoke wafted over his father, he too wearing shades plus a
protective hat.
Whether the short ritual did any good, we may never know. According to
ancient Mexican lore, it promises to bring love, work and good health.
Whether Sir Mick needs any more love is debatable.
Seven-year-old Lucas is his seventh child from four different women. Lucas
was the product of a fling with Brazilian model Luciana Morad, whom he met
backstage at a concert the last time the Stones toured South America - a
dalliance which called time on his marriage to Texan model Jerry Hall.
He also has a 35-year-old daughter, Karis, the product of a fling with the
American singer Marsha Hunt. Jewellery designer Jade Jagger is Sir Mick's
33-year-old daughter with his first wife Bianca. He also has four children
by former wife Jerry Hall - Elizabeth, James, Georgia May and Gabriel.
On the subject of work, Sir Mick shouldn't really have to worry too much
about that drying up either.
Last week, the Rolling Stones played one of the largest concerts of all
time - to as many as two million fans on Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro.
Their current Bigger Bang Tour is the biggest U.S. tour ever and by the end
of last year had sold £94million worth of tickets in four months. In that
short time, the group - which includes Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Keith
Richards - have already smashed their own record set in 1994, when their
Voodoo Lounge tour earned them £70million.
Personally, Sir Mick shouldn't be too concerned about his finances either -
he will be worth more than £200million by the end of the tour.
On the subject of good health, Sir Mick is about the only one of the band
who can boast to have it. The other members of the band - who have a
combined age of 245 - have been plagued by ill-health in recent years.
Wood has battled the bottle, Watts has fought throat cancer and with
Richards's huge intake of drink and drugs over the years, some say it's a
miracle he's even standing.

Lovenest to your satisfaction, Mick?
by RICHARD SIMPSON, Daily Mail
08:38am 28th December 2005
When he received a £1.5million hotel bill, the normally parsimonious Mick
Jagger finally decided it was time for action.
The Rolling Stone has been living at Claridge's in Mayfair for two years
since his ex-wife Jerry Hall told him he could no longer live in the flat he
owns next door to their marital home in Richmond, South-West London.
But the towering expense of staying at one of London's top hotels has
clearly got the better of him.
He was spotted house-hunting in Barnes, West London, with his leggy American
girlfriend L'Wren Scott. And they were particularly interested in this
£6.5million home with views of the Thames.
The double-fronted property is substantially bigger than the Claridge's
apartment they have become accustomed to. It has seven bedrooms, five
reception rooms, a roof terrace, a large garden and six bathrooms.
It also features a glass-walled swimming pool with a weir-style overflow, a
cinema, wine cellar and gym. Crucially for Jagger, he will be able to enter
the house without being seen because the garage has access to the main house
through a study room.
The 62-year-old singer has been dating Miss Scott, a 38-year-old model and
stylist, for three-and-a-half-years. Some have nicknamed her The Loin Tamer
because she appears to have put a stop to his philandering ways.
Now it appears he wants to put down roots with her by buying a home.
The house they viewed is a few miles from the house where 48-year-old Miss
Hall has been living with their four children Elizabeth, 21, James, 19,
Georgia, 13, and seven-year-old Gabrielle since their acrimonious split six
years ago.
Their marriage fell apart following the revelation that Jagger had made
Brazilian model Luciana Morad pregnant.
After the split, in August 1999, Jagger moved out - but only as far as the
flat next door. And he was coming and going so frequently that he had an
adjoining wall knocked through.
Miss Hall ended that arrangement in August 2003 when she learned Jagger had
been taking Miss Scott back to the flat while she was in the stage
production of The Graduate in San Francisco.
Since then, when Jagger and the Stones have not been on tour, he and Miss
Scott have lived in a £3,500-a-night penthouse apartment at Claridge's.
Jagger had hoped to iron things out with Miss Hall and move back into the
flat next door on Richmond Hill with Miss Scott. To that end, he was granted
planning permission to have that flat - and another he bought below it -
knocked into one.
But it is becoming increasingly clear that Miss Hall is standing her ground
on that point, hence Jagger and Miss Scott's house-hunting trip.
But whether the singer will be able to snap up the Barnes property remains
to be seen - as Jagger knows, you can't always get what you want.

Joking Jerry takes the Mick out of Romeo Jagger
by RICHARD SIMPSON, Daily Mail
07:55am 19th October 2005
Putting the boot in: Jerry Hall
It's been all over for six years now.
But that didn't stop a giggling Jerry Hall making a few well-aimed digs at
the expense of her philandering ex-husband.
The 48-year-old actress and model spoke frankly of Mick Jagger's weakness
for women as she hosted a fashion awards night in Monte Carlo.
And as the audience - including Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey and Prince
Albert of Monaco - hooted with laughter, Miss Hall seemed to revel in a
little light-hearted revenge.
Asked on stage by her co-host Jeremy Irons whether Sir Mick might host the
event with her next year, she replied: "Are you insane? Have you seen how
many models there are here? Even he couldn't afford the child support
payments."
A few moments later, the unfortunate Jagger was in her sights again.
Asked whether she had tried a spot of betting during her stay in Monte
Carlo, she replied that she didn't gamble, as she always ended up losing.
Irons persevered and Miss Hall admitted that she did like betting on "the
fillies". She then added: "Of course, Mick always liked betting on a lot of
fillies at the same time.
"Unfortunately, the last filly he bet on, I got to keep the house".
Father of seven
Jagger fathered his seventh child, Lucas, with model Luciana Morad while
married to Miss Hall, the mother of four of his children.
After years of putting up with his unfaithfulness, the affair with Miss
Morad was the last straw.
Miss Hall promptly divorced him and did indeed get to keep their £7million
home in Richmond, South West London. After a protracted paternity battle the
62-year-old Rolling Stones singer was also forced to pay child support for
his son with Miss Morad.
As the night dragged on, Miss Hall appeared to be taking every opportunity
to bemoan her life with Sir Mick. On another occasion, she said: "My advice
to the models here is take it easy on yourself - and don't have four kids."
Her candid views on her former husband were not quite as colourful as her
outfits. She changed eight times during the show, wearing gowns from
Vivienne Westwood, Roberto Cavalli, Tommy Hilfiger, Alexander McQueen, Dolce
& Gabbana, Prada and Armani.
After the broadcast, she declared: "Now I have nothing to wear for the after
party - I've already been seen in all these dresses."
The Fashion Rocks show, which is in aid of The Prince's Trust, will be
televised worldwide. It will be seen in Britain on Channel 4 on Saturday
night.
Victoria Beckham, who appeared in a revealing Cavalli dress, insisted that
she did not diet to keep her increasingly slender shape. "I keep fit by
running after my three boys all day," she said.
Blondie singer Deborah Harry arrived at the awards on the arm of designer
Tommy Hilfiger. Her trademark blonde hair had been dyed a dazzling red.
Mariah Carey, who teamed up with designer Donatella Versace, declared: "It's
an honour for Donatella to come here and dress me tonight. I find her like a
little Barbie doll who is always beautiful to look at."
Other guests included Ozzie, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Bon Jovi, Emma
Bunton, Rachel Stevens and Craig David.

Supermodel JERRY HALL was so determined to save her marriage to SIR
MICK JAGGER, she desperately tried to ignore his numerous affairs.
The Texan beauty insists marriage to THE ROLLING STONES frontman was
perfect aside from his infidelity - but her attempts to turn a blind
eye were thwarted by her moral principles.
She says, "He's a great father, he's very funny and we laugh
together. We really like each other. He was just not a good husband.
"But I was kind of hooked. Basically we get on great, and in life
that's not easy to find. I mean, we didn't fight, you know. We laughed
our heads off, we had so much fun. So we got on great. Except he slept
with other people, which was horrible."
She adds, "I tried (to ignore it) but basically I am very moral."

Banned Pope cartoon set for DVD release
08/08/2005 - 17:32:42
A cartoon which was banned from the BBC for its depiction of the Pope as an
immature brat is set to cause new controversy after it was today confirmed
it will be released on DVD in Britain.
Popetown, which features the voices of comedienne Ruby Wax as the pontiff
and model Jerry Hall as a fame-hungry nun, was commissioned for digital
channel BBC3 but deemed too offensive for broadcast last year.
The 10-part animation, commissioned in 2002, also features corrupt
cardinals, plotlines about bestiality and an elderly Pope bouncing around
the Vatican on a pogo stick.
Catholic groups campaigned against the screening of the programme, which
also stars Little Britain's Matt Lucas and Mckenzie Crook, of The Office.
Opponents said attempts to belittle the leader of the Catholic Church would
be unacceptable to vast numbers of the viewing public.
Joseph Devine, the Bishop of Motherwell, said: "Many Catholics view this as
an irreverent, gratuitous and publicly funded attack on their faith.
"It is impossible to imagine a similar irreverent approach being taken to
Islam or Judaism."
Television bosses relented last September and admitted they had always
believed the project would tread the boundaries of taste.
BBC3 Controller Stuart Murphy said at the time: "Once we saw the finished
series it became clear that the programme fell on the wrong side of that
line."
Director Phil Ox confirmed that the DVD will be released next month and
branded lobbyists who forced the show off air "evil".
He added: "I am glad that this DVD is finally out there.
"I should just remind everybody that viewing this show can destroy your
soul."

DOES DUNAWAY HAVE A WEALTHY YOUNG LOVE?
Veteran actress Faye Dunaway has found an unlikely new beau -- the
22-year-old son of the Sultan of Brunei.
At 64, Dunaway is old enough to be the grandmother of Prince Azim, whose dad
is one of the richest men in the world, with a fortune of $47.5 billion.
Nevertheless, the pair left the exclusive London restaurant Nobu
hand-in-hand together Monday night, prompting reports of a romance.
Pals insist their relationship is strictly business-based -- budding
filmmaker Prince Azim is hoping to persuade Dunaway to appear in a new movie
he is making.
But the young lothario has a history with older women -- he once sent Sir
Mick Jagger's ex-wife Jerry Hall a bouquet of flowers so large two men had
to deliver it, reports the London Evening Standard.

NY DAILY NEWS...LLOYD GROVE'S LOWDOWN
Is Jerry Hall a cruel and pretentious diva?
Or are Brian Bergdoll's many complaints a case of hell hath no fury
like a reality-show contestant spurned?
Bergdoll was the first man to be axed from the former Mrs. Mick
Jagger's VH1 show, "Kept" - in which 12 strapping lads compete to be
her No. 1 boy toy.
Hall called him "stalkerish" in the pilot episode.
Now Bergdoll is lashing out. "Jerry should be lucky to have a stalker!"
he fumed to Webster Hall gadabout Baird Jones. "No one on that show had
even known who Jerry Hall was. Not only did these guys have no idea who
Jerry was, they had not even heard of the Rolling Stones!"
The 33-year-old Bergdoll - who pays his Brooklyn rent by impersonating
Jagger and John Travolta - added, "Jerry was so affected, we kept
wondering why she was so pretentious."
He claims Hall kicked him out of the show's premiere party at Soho 323
the other night. "Jerry started throwing us all out because she had
brought fake 'Kept' contestants, who were much taller and more
muscular, for 'Entertainment Tonight,' who was covering the party," he
said.
"Kept" executive producer Brandon Riegg disputed Bergdoll's claims.
"All the guys were familiar with Jerry," he said, noting that Bergdoll
"was eliminated the second day he was there. The rest of the series,
you'll see that she interacts and goes on dates with several of the
guys."
But not you, Brian!

Why Jerry wants a 'kept' man
03/06/2005 - 07:10:24
Wanted: Single, twentysomething toy boy to change light bulbs and escort
divorced model-actress down red carpets. Must be somewhat intelligent,
well-groomed and able to hang out with rock royalty. Bond-era Sean Connery
lookalikes preferred.
That's exactly what Jerry Hall, the model-actress ex-wife of Rolling Stone
Mick Jagger, is looking for in her new US reality show, Kept.
Hall, 48, went from Texas cowgirl to covergal back in the 70s. The
long-haired blonde married long-time rock beau Jagger in 1990, then split
with him in 1999 and earned a whopping settlement in the process.
The mother of four frequently appears on stage in London's West End, where
in 2000 she disrobed as Mrs Robinson in The Graduate.
On a recent rainy afternoon more typical of her London stomping grounds than
New York, Hall and gal pal Rachel Fuller, girlfriend of The Who's Pete
Townshend, taqlked to The Associated Press in a hotel bar.
In the 10 episodes of Kept, which premiered on Sunday in the US, a dozen
fumbling American beefcakes are slowly transformed into gentlemen through a
series of makeovers and art appreciation lessons.
After a series of velvet rope eliminations, the man Hall ultimately chooses
to become her kept man wins a car, apartment and six-figure salary for a
year. More important to Hall, though, he becomes her red-carpet arm candy, a
delightful twist on society standards.
Talking of her first impression of the Kept men, Hall said: "Some of them
looked so gorgeous. I thought, 'Mmmm. This is gonna be fun'. Some of them
looked a bit flawed. I thought, 'Some of them are gonna have to go quick'.
"When it got down to the last three, they were so gorgeous and so fabulous.
I really couldn't make my mind up. I had to take them to Paris for the
weekend and have a close look."
She said having a "kept" man was "totally empowering".
"The whole show is empowering. I'm divorced, financially independent. Why
shouldn't I get to carry on like all the guys that have been carrying on
forever? The worm has turned.
Hall: "Since I got a divorce, I have been dating younger guys. But it's just
because they're the ones that ask me out. I suppose they're confident. I
think younger guys love the idea of a divorced woman who's going to teach
them how to be a man."
When asked what qualities she looked for in a kept man, Hall said: "Someone
who fits into my lifestyle, cool, funny, smart, good-looking, gets along
well with my friends.
"I like the look of Sean Connery in James Bond. Now that is a
gorgeous-looking guy."
Hall said her children were "a bit worried" at first but then thought it was
funny "because I was torturing all these guys".

Rolling pebble grows ever more like Mick
by RICHARD SIMPSON, Daily Mail
08:16am 20th May 2005
When Lucas Morad was a baby, it took a DNA test to prove his parenthood to
Mick Jagger's satisfaction.
But now he is six, who could possibly doubt that he is a chip off the old
Stone?
The similarities are remarkable between this birthday shot of the boy from
Brazil and his father when Jagger was aged 21 in 1964, the year the Rolling
Stones had their first UK No 1.
Lucas has clearly inherited his father's shape of face and round-eyed stare,
which makes him seem to be focusing on a point some way behind the camera.
His mop of hair is also a dead ringer for Sir Mick's shaggy mane.
And then, of course, there are those childbearing lips.
Lucas celebrated his sixth birthday in Sao Paulo with his mother, model
Luciana Morad.
And just like Dad he showed that he loves a party, lapping up the fizzy
drinks and ice cream on offer.
"Everyone was talking about how Lucas becomes more and more like his
father," said one guest. "He is the image of Mick."
The brief encounter which led to Lucas happened back stage in Rio De Janeiro
during a Stones tour in 1998.
Although Jagger disputed that he was the father until the test proved him
wrong, he is now close to his son and contributes to his upkeep.
Jerry Hall filed for divorce after the affair was confirmed and since then
Sir Mick has been living a nomadic existence between the flat he owns next
door to his former marital home in Richmond, South-west London, and a
penthouse apartment at Claridge's Hotel in central London.
He is now 61 and the Stones have a combined age of 242, but they are still
reported to be planning another world tour this year.
The incredible likeness of Lucas to Jagger will strike a chord with another
philandering celebrity, Boris Becker.
He, too, disputed parenthood following a fleeting affair - in his case a
fumble in a broom cupboard at the London restaurant Nobu.
But the unmistakable features of red-haired daughter Anna, now five, again
proved DNA tests superfluous to requirements.
She shares a £1million house in London with mother Angela Ermakowa - paid
for by the German tennis legend.
