Typically you're talking about at least 2 years between movies. Sure LOTR were annual, but they were essentially one really long movie and the Harry Potter movies had to expand to 18 months and probably only can do so since it seems like a national British cause celebre (considering it's written by the richest private woman in Britain, about British characters, starring all British actors and possibly filmed all in Britain). So TPTB would want an actress in her early to mid 20s for the role, because heaven forbid WW actually has ... gasp ... wrinkles.
