NY POST..PAGE 6
LINDSAY Lohan and Sean Combs are at war. At a private concert by Prince
at Butter last Friday, when Lohan got up to argue with Paris Hilton
over Stavros Niarchos, Puffy and his posse squeezed into her table.
"There were only like six tables," a witness says. "Everyone was
sharing, but Lindsay refused and began mixing it up with Puffy. His
bodyguards came over and picked Lindsay up to get her out." A member of
Diddy's camp confirmed, "Lindsay was being so loud and obnoxious. His
security became concerned and came over to escort her away."

Here is the recap with my comments:
Alicia Keys backed out of a charity ball even after a New Jersey couple
took out a second mortgage on their home just to secure her
performance.
The controversy began shortly after a key sponsor pulled out of last
night's gala, which benefits the Cancer & Fertility Society, a new
group dedicated to educating women with cancer about how to preserve
their fertility.
The charity was left with only limited funds to pay Keys.
Desperate organizers tried to renegotiate with Keys' camp, which
suggested she might make a scaled-down appearance if the charity
delivered a deposit that one source put at "more than $100,000."
=====ok talent don't come cheap.... that's her choice
Jonathan Brielle and his wife agreed to take out a second mortgage on
his Califon, N.J., home to pay the deposit. But after the deposit was
delivered, Keys canceled her appearance anyway, charity sources said.
====== WHOAH....this a charity benefit or a hostage situation?
Keys almost kept the money, charity officials said - until reporters
began asking her aides about the dustup.
====== HOLY CRAP!!!!
Representatives of Keys put out a statement last night saying all the
money would be returned, and that Keys would perform for the group at a
later date "if the organization fulfills all of its contractual
obligations."
====== I think we should wait until the money is back the homeowner's
hands before we think about "next steps"
"Truthfully, I think the people that are here know that the medicine is
the star," said Brielle, 53. "Alicia would have been the icing on the
cake. But I am incredibly grateful that she has chosen to do the right
thing."
==== TRANSLATION: Thank God we got the money back, because we don't
have any left over for lawyers to chase this chiseler.
Who is this Cancer and Fertility Society?
http://www.cancerandfertilitysociety.org/
Turns out they are folks who are trying to make up for a shortfall in
government spending. That's right. The same government that gives
tremendous tax breaks to wealthy entertainers like Alicia Keys is
financing these tax cuts by proposing the deepest research funding cuts
in a generation (since Reagan).... and she STILL has to grab more
cheddar.
That's despicable.

Huh? Elaborate, please. I must have missed this scandal.

Excellent question. No one begrudges someone who is up front about
charging for their services. It is funny she can charge over a 100K
and say she is just doing it for the children/charity/whatever... but I
suppose properly organized galas look at it as a money maker and will
pay the premium of someone with an overinflated sense of their
importance.
The sick part is that after people mortgaged their house to put up the
DEPOSIT...she tried to take off with it!!! That's what makes this
stink. Fact is, as of this writing , she still hasn't given the money
back.
I guess it's like Sean Combs and his "Vote or Die" campaign...which
turned out to be nothing more than a money laundering operation to pay
for chartered jets.

NY DAILY NEWS...LLOYD GROVE'S LOWDOWN
Is Jessica Simpson losing the PR battle to soon-to-be-ex hubby Nick
Lachey?
According to industry insiders, the 25-year-old Simpson is unhappy that
her new handlers at New York-based Dan Klores Communications (which
also reps the Daily News) have been unable to protect her from a
barrage of negative stories in recent weeks.
These include reports of Jessica's stomach ulcers, alleged cosmetic
surgery and supposed marital infidelities, including this column's
report that Simpson had a tryst with Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine.
But despite rumors that Team Simpson has been sounding out rival PR
firms to replace Jessica's Dan Klores flack, Rob Shuter, the company
insists everything is fine and the relationship remains strong.
Klores execs yesterday provided Lowdown with a written statement
attributed to Jessica's father and manager, Joe Simpson: "I love
working with Rob Shuter. He is the very best. We have a great working
relationship."
But the usually loquacious Shuter - who also counts Jessica's little
sister, Ashlee, as well as Sean Combs and Naomi Campbell among his
gold-star clients - declined to respond personally to the predictions
of his demise.
Media insiders say the 32- year-old Brit, charged with the difficult
task of steering Jessica through a tabloid-ready divorce, has been busy
planting negative items about Lachey. Says one insider: "Rob thinks
he's controlling the weeklies, but the general perception is that Nick
is coming out looking much better."
A second insider notes, "His perception of what's important and what's
not is off. When you overspin ... you lose."
Lowdown hears that Simpson - who officially filed for divorce on Dec.
16 - has been talking to the L.A.-based public-relations firm Baker
Winokur Ryder, but one potential obstacle is that BWR co-reps Lachey
with spinmeister Ken Sunshine.

Oh she should just shut the fuck up! She has been known to blow (hehehe)
things out of proportion in the past. Sheesh. I can remember her anti-gun
bile, until it was determined that she had armed guards watching her kids.

But setting off fireworks without a license may also be against the law.
Check your local ordinances Rosie!
