I totally agree with all the above comments. It's for these reasons I don't
find Linda to be irritating or offensive. She's keeps out of the way and
does her job - modelling. And does that job well. She doesn't seem as
obsessed as some of these people with becoming another celebrity without
sufficient talent to back it up known for everything nothing at the same
time.
Good for her. I like her attitude. She has my respect for not being
attention seeking mediawhore jumping onto every bandwagon she can get
herself onto. And that is a positive quality which makes me like her. It
certainly doesn't make her "unambitious". Geez!

It's hugely refreshing to see someone who is happy with what she's
doing and not trying to become a multihyphenated conglomorate.
And she was gorgeous. Haven't seen her lately but I'm guessing she
still is.

Evangelista Defends Her Ongoing Modeling Career
Aging supermodel Linda Evangelista has slammed critics who label her
unambitious for not extending her career beyond modeling.
While catwalk colleagues Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford and Elle
MacPherson have branched into photography, acting and clothes design,
Evangelista has been content sticking with the job that propelled her to
fame.
The stunning 40-year-old says, "'I've never wanted to do anything other than
model. I'm best at selling lipstick. Acting and television work just don't
appeal to me.
"People forget that I'm still working. I model. I do advertising campaigns.
It's not like I'm sat at home twiddling my thumbs.

strengths lie."

Heather Blasts Fur Models
Heather Mills McCartney, the wife of Beatle Sir Paul, has accused
supermodels of selling their souls by wearing animal fur.
A statement on her website - which has been signed by Paul's daughter Stella
McCartney - singles out supermodels Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and
Naomi Campbell.
"Do they really need that cash? Are they broke? Do they live in a shed?" she
said.
She criticised the three models after they backed 1990s anti-fur campaigns
by pressure group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
"Cindy Crawford famously supported PETA's 'I'd rather go naked than wear
fur' campaign, but has now sold her soul to the fur trade, as have Linda
Evangelista and Naomi Campbell," Heather wrote.
"These are models who were fully informed of the cruelty involved when they
joined in the campaign against fur to support PETA, but who then decided to
take the money and rejoin the industry that murders animals."
She also attacked Jennifer Lopez for her clothing line Sweetface, which
features fur.
"J Lo is one of the biggest celebrity buyers of fur for her own clothing
line Sweetface: boycott her films, perfume and clothes as well as her music
until she decides to give it up," she said.
Heather urged supporters to boycott celebrities who promoted fur and to
write to designers telling them they would not buy their designs until they
stopped using fur.
She added: "There will, of course, always be the odd person who you cannot
influence or inject any warmth into; these people will have to live with
their consciences and will reap their rewards for their actions in this and
future lives."

Evangelista No Longer in It for Riches
Former supermodel Linda Evangelista finds life more fulfilling raising money
for charity than she ever did traveling the world as a wealthy style icon.
The 40-year-old blonde has moved on since she infamously stated she wouldn't
"get out of bed" for less than $10,000 a day.
She says, "I said that a long time ago and I would hope that today I am a
different person."
Evangelista now focuses her energies on AIDS charity work.
She adds, "Now I get out of bed for a much better reason. I'm part of a team
that raises millions of dollars and raises awareness of HIV and AIDS all
over the world."

Stefani Furious With Campbell
AP / Jennifer Graylock
Singer/designer Gwen Stefani is reportedly furious with Naomi Campbell after
the supermodel usurped her closing slot at New York City's Fashion Week
tonight.
The sexy star had planned to grab attention for her new label L.A.M.B.'s
first fashion show, which is scheduled to premiere at 8 p.m. (EST) -- but
Campbell then scheduled her Fashion For Relief charity show at 9 p.m. (EST).
A source tells Web site Page Six, "Gwen wanted the biggest blowout show of
Fashion Week, and arranged her show outside the tents to ensure that she
would get the very last slot of the week. But then Naomi put together the
Fashion for Relief charity show for Hurricane Katrina victims.
"Almost everyone is participating but L.A.M.B., and Gwen is said to be very,
very angry."
Campbell has recruited Iman, Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista to model
clothes by Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, and Zac Posen.

NY DAILY NEWS...RUSH AND MOLLOY
Kate Moss is finding out that hell hath no fury like a tabloid fined.
Back in July, lawyers for the supermodel proudly announced that
London's Sunday Mirror would pay her "substantial" libel damages for
claiming that she once fell into a cocaine-induced coma.
Yesterday, the Mirror had its vengeance - publishing photos that show
Moss allegedly snorting coke with her boyfriend, Pete Doherty.
The pictures show the proto-waif laying down about 20 lines of white
powder from a "mammoth stash kept safely wrapped in her handbag," then
"hoovering up every last grain of the Class A drug," the Mirror
claimed.
The paper said the damning pictures were taken last week in a recording
studio as part of "an undercover investigation" while Doherty laid down
guitar tracks for a new Babyshambles album.
Moss spent six weeks in rehab in 1998 for an undisclosed addiction.
Calls to a rep for the catwalk princess, who has a 2-year-old daughter,
Lila, were not returned yesterday.
Moss and Doherty got wind of the Mirror counterattack Tuesday, when a
reporter and photographer buttonholed them as they came out of the
restaurant Balthazar in New York.
Moss and Doherty "tried to make a run for it," lenswoman Jennifer
Gonzales tells us. She says Doherty threatened the reporter and "shoved
me to the ground," breaking her camera.
With the Mirror preparing another installment for today, executives at
Burberry, Chanel, Dior and Rimmel, for which Moss models, have to be
concerned.
A Burberry spokesman told us yesterday: "Going forward when it comes to
the next ad campaign, Burberry will look to choose the most relevant
model for [print campaign] shoots. Beyond that, we can't comment."
It remains to be seen whether Moss will turn up at the Hurricane
Katrina benefit show that is planned by her friends Naomi Campbell,
Iman and Linda Evangelista to close Fashion Week tonight. Tickets are
available at ticketmaster.com.

NAOMI Campbell will never be invited to another Gwen Stefani show! The
queen of cool is said to be furious at the catwalk royal for one-upping
her first L.A.M.B. show tonight at 8 at Roseland - which was supposed
to close Fashion Week. One insider said: "Gwen wanted the biggest
blowout show of Fashion Week, and arranged her show outside the tents
to ensure that she would get the very last slot of the week. But then
Naomi put together the Fashion for Relief charity show for Hurricane
Katrina victims." Naomi's 9 p.m. show will have Iman, Cindy Crawford
and Linda Evangelista catwalking in clothes by Ralph Lauren, Tommy
Hilfiger, Vera Wang and Zac Posen. Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, Sean
Combs, Jay-Z, Rob Thomas and Molly Simms are also involved. "Almost
everyone is participating but L.A.M.B., and Gwen is said to be very,
very angry." Stefani's people did not return calls, but Campbell's rep
noted: "Tickets for the show can be bought for $100 at Ticketmaster."

They are wonderful for those whose lives have progressed normally.
For those of us who are in our forties and still trying to find
fertile women to have children and marry, they are about as useless as

Messing with them is like what happened to the California Med-Fly
They brought in tens of thousands of sterile med flies and let them

If Aubrey de Gray is correct, by 2030, someone who is fifty now will
have another fifty years of life remaining when they are eighty. And by
the time that fifty is up, nanotech will ensure indefinite lifespan.

George sells his fast love
By Metro
27 April 2005
George Michael's 4x4 Range Rover fetched £11,600 on auction website eBay
last night. The black 3.9-litre Vogue model, which boasts a 'massive stereo
and three massive amplifiers under the rear seat', was put up for sale by
the pop star's father.
The vehicle attracted scores of bids, with all proceeds going to charity.
Michael paid £50,000 for the off-roader in 1991. It was famously clamped as
he enjoyed a night out with model Linda Evangelista.
