And, according to his daughter Elizabeth, Sir Mick Jagger has no plans to change the way he looks. The eldest child of the Rolling Stone's dissolved marriage to Jerry Hall revealed that her father has pledged never to go under the plastic surgeon's knife. Her mother had made a similar promise, said the 21-year-old. Miss Jagger, who earns Ł3million a year as a model, said: "Dad will definitely grow old gracefully although I guess he's already well on his way. He might have one of the craggiest faces in the world but it's all his own and it makes him so recognisable. I am very proud of him and his face. "He will never have plastic surgery and nor should he because face-lifts on men are just yuk, they're wrong. "Neither he nor my mum will ever have plastic surgery and neither, I hope, will I. "I think it's only okay to have cosmetic surgery if you've got a nose the size of the Himalayas. Otherwise, no." Miss Jagger - the face of Lancome cosmetics - also criticised the identikit appearance of many Californian women. "Women in LA just look the same nowadays, like they all use the same surgeon," she said. "As a result the women all walk around with the same sucked-in look and the same glazed expression like they're in a state of permanent shock. It's ridiculous. "I hope I never go down that route and obviously I hope that my parents never do either - but I am positive that they won't." Miss Jagger made her candid remarks in the early hours of Monday morning after the Bafta film awards event in central London. Fellow guests at the Grosvenor House Hotel aftershow party included Renee Zellweger, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Charlize Theron and Jude Law. The couple separated following the revelation that Jagger had made Brazilian model Luciana Morad pregnant during the band's last visit to Rio in 1999. The Rolling Stone has been living at Claridge's in Mayfair for two years since his ex-wife Jerry Hall told him he could no longer live in the flat he owns next door to their marital home in Richmond, South-West London. But the towering expense of staying at one of London's top hotels has clearly got the better of him. He was spotted house-hunting in Barnes, West London, with his leggy American girlfriend L'Wren Scott. And they were particularly interested in this Ł6.5million home with views of the Thames. The double-fronted property is substantially bigger than the Claridge's apartment they have become accustomed to. It has seven bedrooms, five reception rooms, a roof terrace, a large garden and six bathrooms. It also features a glass-walled swimming pool with a weir-style overflow, a cinema, wine cellar and gym. Crucially for Jagger, he will be able to enter the house without being seen because the garage has access to the main house through a study room. The 62-year-old singer has been dating Miss Scott, a 38-year-old model and stylist, for three-and-a-half-years. Some have nicknamed her The Loin Tamer because she appears to have put a stop to his philandering ways. Now it appears he wants to put down roots with her by buying a home. The house they viewed is a few miles from the house where 48-year-old Miss Hall has been living with their four children Elizabeth, 21, James, 19, Georgia, 13, and seven-year-old Gabrielle since their acrimonious split six years ago. Their marriage fell apart following the revelation that Jagger had made Brazilian model Luciana Morad pregnant. Lucas has clearly inherited his father's shape of face and round-eyed stare, which makes him seem to be focusing on a point some way behind the camera. By rights, L'Wren Scott should be at Mick Jagger's side as he celebrates his 60th birthday - she is, after all, the woman who has kept him enthralled for the past 18 months. But the Amazonian 6ft 4ins former Pretty Polly model and fashion stylist has never played the part of the besotted girlfriend and she's unlikely to start now. L'Wren has discovered the secret that has eluded scores of beautiful women for decades - how to keep a hold on Mick's heart. "The relationship is based around sex, no strings attached," says an old friend of Mick. "And she isn't bothered if he sleeps around. She doesn't try to tie him down. It's the perfect relationship as far as he is concerned." While Brazilian model Luciana Morad drove Mick to distraction with daily phone calls during their illicit affair, it is often Mick who calls L'Wren at her Bohemian, incense-scented, candlelit home in the Hollywood hills. And she doesn't sit by the phone waiting for it to ring. As one of Hollywood's leading fashion stylists, the 39-year-old is busy earning up to Ł3,000 a day dressing stars such as Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger. When she is not working she loves nothing more than to sit in the tropical garden of her home, smoking a cigarette and conjuring up something new for one of her famous clients. Those who know L'Wren say she is as much of a free spirit as Mick. "I feel very comfortable in my own skin," she says. "I think that scares a lot of people." She is also completely unfazed by Mick's fame and raunchy reputation. Thanks to her career, L'Wren has spent the past two decades in the company of people even more famous than he is. In addition to an international modelling career, she is close friends with actress Demi Moore and comforted her when she split from Bruce Willis in 1998. She worked with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman when she designed the costumes for their film, Eyes Wide Shut and styled the outfits for Star Wars: Episode One - The Phantom Menace. She has also created advertising campaigns for Donna Karan and Calvin Klein, worked with Jennifer Lopez on video shoots and with photographer Herb Ritts. Such is her reputation that in 2000 she was appointed to the specially-created post of "Style Designer" for the Oscars with the remit of co-ordinating the overall look of the show. So by the time she met Mick at the end of 2001 during a shoot for a French magazine in Paris, she was by no means an easy conquest for the singer and father of seven. Mick was instantly drawn to the statuesque brunette with the 42-inch legs that have become her trademark. But not every woman would have been ready to embark on a relationship with a man whose name has become a byword for philandering. AT FIRST glance, the long-legged American seems an unlikely candidate for such a daunting role. Her roots lie in the tiny Mormon town of Roy in Utah where her deeply religious parents adopted her in 1964. Despite the glamorous name she gave herself when she was carving out a career on the Paris catwalk, L'Wren's real name is the rather less exotic Luann Bambrough. And her 78-year-old mother Lula certainly seems to have little idea of the nature of her daughter's latest flame. At the three-bedroom bungalow filled with religious artefacts where L'Wren grew up, Lula says: "I've never heard of him. Is he famous? She doesn't mention her boyfriends that much." Lula, however, does know why her daughter should be the one to tame the wild rocker. "She is very independent and would not take any nonsense from anyone no matter how famous they were," she says. "She usually knows what she wants and she gets it. It doesn't surprise me at all that she's tamed him. "She is very much her own woman and it would be my guess that is why this Mick Jagger likes her." L'Wren's early life in Roy with her elder adopted brother Randy and sister Jan was the epitome of any small-town American childhood. Her parents, Lula and Ivan - who died 18 months ago - met when they were at school and married as teenagers, but decided to adopt after years of trying for a baby. "The kids were all from the Salt Lake City area," explains Lula. "In those days it was quite difficult to adopt but we were blessed. We adopted Randy first and then Jan and then Luann. It was wonderful. "We were very upfront with the children and they knew from an early age that they were adopted. "At one point Luann said she wanted to contact her biological parents, but nothing came of it." Outside of Roy High School, where she excelled at sport and gymnastics, L'Wren's early life revolved around the Jesus Christ Church of the Latter Day Saints where she sang in the choir. She was also passionate about her ballet lessons. "Luann loved the ballet," recalls Lula. "That's all she wanted to do at one time. She could do the splits, even with her long legs. "Her legs certainly got her noticed - especially with the boys. We never had them calling the house or anything like that but when she walked down the street you could see everyone looking at her because she was so tall and graceful. "She has great poise and isn't embarrassed by how tall she is." But her burgeoning height put an end to L'Wren's dreams of becoming a ballerina. By the age of 12 she was already 6ft. But while her elder brother became an accountant and her sister, now a mother of seven, threw herself into family life, L'Wren set her sights far higher. Aged 18, she moved to Los Angeles to launch her modelling career. "We weren't worried about her. She was so independent. She had made her mind up and I knew she could look after herself. Even then she knew what she wanted and just went for it," says Lula. A few months later, she told her mother she was going to visit friends in New York, bought a one-way ticket to Paris and flew out to the French capital. "I spoke not one word of French," she said later, "but I wanted to go and live in the hotel where Jim Morrison lived and died." Over the next few years L'Wren worked in Paris, Milan and London. But her biggest break was the 1992 Ł4million Pretty Polly advertising campaign, directed by David Bailey which featured her 42-inch legs as the hands ticking around a clock face to the music of the Kinks' All Day And All Of The Night. L'Wren turned to designing after a fall during a fashion shoot left her with a broken elbow, fractured wrist and torn knee ligament. More recently, she has written and shot two short films and is working on her first feature-length film. Throughout this incredible and varied career, L'Wren has always kept her love life as low key as possible. A three-year relationship with 5ft 4ins London property tycoon, 42-year-old Andrew Ladsky ended acrimoniously in 1991. After returning to Los Angeles, L'Wren was married briefly to 42-year-old Anthony Brand - but her mother did not attend the wedding and has no idea why they separated. I don't really remember very much about Anthony because it was a while ago, but I did meet Andrew once," says Lula. "He was a lovely guy and I know Luann loved him very much but I have no idea what happened and I have never asked." Flicking through the family photo album, she reflects on what she's been told about Mick: "He might be a lot older than her but they look happy in the pictures I've been shown. If they have been together this long I hope it will last and I hope they are both very happy." And it seems that L'Wren has decided that a 'no strings' relationship with Mick Jagger fits in with her lifestyle perfectly. Ironically, it is this laid-back attitude which sets her apart from all other women in Mick's mind. HE recently claimed: "I've never been deeply, madly in love. I'm just not an emotional person." Mick's friend adds: "As far as Mick is concerned, women just fulfil one part of his life. He doesn't want to get married again but he likes her, finds her very attractive and thinks she is a laugh. "She leaves him alone when he wants to be left alone. She's not constantly calling him, but if he calls her she'll be there. She has no ties on him and no desire to have any handle on him." It is since being with L'Wren that Mick has finally decided to move out of the home in Richmond, South-West London, that he shared with Jerry. His pal says: "There was a time when he wanted to get back with Jerry. Now he's moved on. "L'Wren doesn't make him think that he ought to feel guilty for his behaviour as Jerry did - and that's a huge aphrodisiac.
