Sure she's thrilled. After the babies pop, she can return to the womb
herself.

Wonder why they didn't get David Crosby to fill the turkey baster again.

I don't work in health care. I have a son who has spent his entire
life dealing with intolerant assholes because of his disability. I was
so proud to see Dick Clark make an appearance. It was the same feeling
that I had when I saw Melissa Etheridge bald and a proud cancer
survivor at the Grammy's. Why can people cheer her and boo Clark?

Etheridge: Pot helped me cope with chemotherapy
12/12/2005 - 13:55:54
Rocker Melissa Etheridge snorted marijuana fumes as she coped with the side
effects of chemotherapy because it was the only thing that comforted her.
The singer/songwriter, who is now cancer free after her brush with death,
used marijuana to help her cope with the worst of radiation therapy on the
advice of doctors - but when smoking the drug made her feel sick, she took
to inhaling it.
She recalls: "I bought a vaporiser to heat up the herb, which I'd inhale
four or five times a day.
"Using the pot was the best advice anybody gave me. It relieved most of my
symptoms and I got a great deal of comfort from it."
Etheridge is now urging US politicians to reverse strict laws that forbid
people from using medical marijuana.
She adds: "I'm furious that our country is denying the use of pot as pain
relief. It should be legalised for medicinal purposes.
"I wonder if I'd have got through chemotherapy without it."

Melissa Etheridge - Relationship Helped Her Beat Cancer
November 2, 2005, 7:31:43
ETHERIDGE THANKS LESBIAN LOVER FOR CANCER STILLNESS
Rocker MELISSA ETHERIDGE is convinced her relationship with lesbian lover
TAMMY LYNN MICHAELS is forever, after the actress nursed her through her
2004 cancer hell with the utmost care.
Etheridge, 44, has praised her 30-year-old partner in a new interview with
gay magazine The Advocate, revealing Michaels was the kind of person every
cancer victim should have in their life when the disease takes hold.
The singer reveals Michaels always found ways to lighten the darkest days
and couldn't have been more considerate.
She says, "She was the best, most loving, completely dedicated... I lived
for weeks in our bedroom, and she knew the days she couldn't make any noise
because it's so painful that noise hurts.
"Even when she had to be completely still, when she couldn't watch
television, even tape the keys on a computer - she would just sit and read
and turn the pages quietly, just to be in the same room with me."
Etheridge also reveals Michaels constantly kept up her morale by telling her
how beautiful she looked with a shaved head.
She adds, "When she said, 'Look, it's time to shave you head...' it was very
hard. She looked at me and said, 'Honey... you actually look very feminine
and beautiful.' She kept watering me with that."

Diaz Lectures University Students
Hollywood beauty Cameron Diaz gave students at Stanford University a huge
shock on Thursday when she turned up unannounced to give a lecture on
environmentally friendly design. The Charlie's Angels star's appearance was
filmed for the MTV series Stand In, where celebrities such as Marilyn
Manson, Melissa Etheridge and Kanye West have appeared as guest lecturers at
colleges across America. Earlier last week, Madonna surprised students at
New York's Hunter College when she turned up to take a film class. Diaz, who
is a champion of environmental causes, joined her friend and renowned
environmental architect William McDonough who was taking the lecture.
Speaking about McDonough, Diaz says, "He's very charismatic, captivating.
Bill is one of those people who is thinking big, but is also producing."

Singer Etheridge smoked marijuana during cancer treatment
14/10/2005 - 18:06:45
US singer Melissa Etheridge says she smoked medicinal marijuana to help with
the side effects of chemotherapy during her treatment for breast cancer.
Etheridge, 44, who was diagnosed over a year ago, is now cancer-free.
"Instead of taking five or six of the preions, I decided to go a
natural route and smoke marijuana," Etheridge said in a US television
interview.
When asked how her doctors reacted, Etheridge said: "Every single one was,
'Oh, yeah. That's the best help for the effects of chemotherapy."'
The singer said she smoked marijuana every day for her pain and symptoms and
"the minute I didn't feel it, I stopped."
The use of marijuana with a doctor's recommendation is legal in California
and nine other states, but is against US federal law.
Asked if she was concerned about federal prosecution, Etheridge replied,
"No, I didn't worry. But it was worth it."
She recently released a new greatest hits album, "The Road Less Travelled,"
including the new song "I Run for Life," which is dedicated to the fight
against breast cancer.

Etheridge Surprises UCLA Students
The 300 UCLA cancer biology students shifted in their seats as they waited
for class to begin. Then came a loud knock on the door and in walked a
surprise guest professor -- Melissa Etheridge.
"Good afternoon," Etheridge said Wednesday afternoon as she smiled at the
undergraduates.
Some students gasped, others clapped.
For an hour, the 44-year-old singer delved into her emotional, yearlong
battle with breast cancer -- from the rousing performance she delivered at
the Grammy Awards in February to hating chemotherapy and having to tell her
children she might die.
"I've been a rock star since you were very young," said Etheridge. "But I've
never encountered anything as powerful as cancer."
The visit, filmed for MTV's college network mtvU, will air Oct. 17.
"We're all a big fan of hers. We're looking for icons," mtvU's Stephen
Friedman said.
Mostly female students questioned Etheridge, and her frank responses drew
laughter -- and tears. "Were you afraid to die?" asked one student.
"I don't fear death. I have a lot more to do," Etheridge answered. Of what
it was like to go through chemotherapy and surgery, Etheridge pointed to her
scars and said even her ears hurt during treatment.
"I couldn't turn music on, which broke my heart," she said.
Other guest professors on mtvU's "Stand-In" series have included Snoop Dogg,
Kanye West, Shimon Peres, Tom Wolfe and Marilyn Manson. (AP)

NEW YORK - Melissa Etheridge says she's working on a sitcom. The show,
still in development with ABC, is about "what my life might have been
like had I not left to find my fame and fortune, and stayed in Kansas
and became a teacher and been gay and dealt with life there," Etheridge
told Time magazine.
The two-time Grammy winner says she doesn't want to rely on touring to
make a living, and a television show would allow her to "be home for
dinner."
Etheridge, who for much of last year was fighting breast cancer, is
releasing a greatest hits album and DVD this week.
Etheridge won a 1992 Grammy for best female rock vocal performance for
"Ain't It Heavy" and a 1994 Grammy in the same category for "Come to My
Window."

Etheridge appeals for alternative to chemo
06/08/2005 - 15:53:07
Breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge was left traumatised by the
experience of undergoing chemotherapy, and has called on scientists to
develop a kinder treatment.
The Bring Me Some Water singer, 44, is now cancer-free after 10 months
battling the disease - but pities other sufferers who have to undergo the
treatment.
Etheridge says: "The chemotherapy is the biggest trip. The medical community
has to come up with something better. It hasn't changed in 30 years. It has
got to change."

Well I hope and assume it's the partner who's getting pregnant.
Pregnancy can cause cancer flare-ups due to the amount of estrogen
being emitted. Especially with breast cancer, which is usually
hormone-driven. Usually doctors advise against it to be on the safe
side.
