Tennis babe Anna Kournikova has landed a new job as Elle magazine's new
fitness guru.
The Russian-born stunner is thrilled with her new job, because it gives her
a fresh incentive to find new work-outs to help her stay lean and trim.
In her inaugural column, which appears in the June issue of Elle, Kournikova
admits she has struggled to stay in shape since announcing a hiatus from
tennis to correct back and foot problems.
She writes: "As I've shifted from an intense training schedule to a more
moderate pace... I'm suddenly facing the real issues of a nonprofessional
athlete - which means worrying about how often I should hit the gym and what
I need to incorporate into my diet and figuring out what fitness and food
combination works best for me.
"Finally I can risk some new activities (such as rock climbing and
Yogalates) without fearing that I'll get hurt and be sidelined, and report
back on how rigorous and fun they really are.
"When I was playing competitively, I never really thought much about my
body. As long as I could slam my serve at a Williams sister (Venus or
Serena), I didn't worry about what I ate or if I needed to log StairMaster
time because I wasn't exercising."

Anna Kournikova and her parents have settled their dispute regarding the
ownership of a $6 million waterfront home in Miami Beach, the attorney for
the tennis player's parents said.
Sergei and Alla Kournikova sued their daughter in Miami-Dade Circuit Court
last year, saying they wanted money for their share of the house that they
alleged Anna Kournikova took over.
Anna Kournikova filed a countersuit soon afterward, seeking to remove her
parents' names from the deed. Each of the Kournikovas is still listed as an
owner of the property, according to county records viewed today.
"Everybody is pleased with the result of the settlement," David Leacock, the
parents' attorney, told The Associated Press. "The settlement itself is
confidential."
In her lawsuit, Anna Kournikova claimed she paid the entire purchase price
for the seven-bedroom, seven-bath home, plus an additional $1.27 million for
improvements.
She has never won a pro tournament, and has not played competitive tennis
for two years.

Paris Hilton's mobile phone mishap has uncovered private notes leading to
speculation over the hotel heiress' involvement in the release of her
infamous sex tape.

of more than 500 names and phone numbers splashed all over the Internet
after the 24-year-old socialite's Blackberry phone was hacked.
Rocker Fred Durst's representative says the incident has been, "A big pain
in the [bleep]."
But while the stars were trying to ward off thousands of unwanted phone
calls,TV show "Celebrity Justice" discovered two intriguing personal notes
stored in Hilton's phone.
A note, dated last November, simply reads, "Ian Eisenburg at Mavard." Mavard
is the Internet porn company responsible for releasing clips of the home
video featuring Hilton and her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon.
Another note dated last October, reads, "Check from Rick," prompting
speculation it's from Salomon.
When the clips were first released in November 2003, Hilton, Marvad and
Salomon began a war of lawsuits. Hilton was outraged over the Internet
footage and Salomon denied he released them. Then, one by one, the lawsuits
were quietly dropped.
Salomon went on to make a fortune by releasing the entire sex tape, and
Hilton has never acknowledged getting any cut of the profits.

Stalker ordered to stay 1,000 feet from Kournikova

A homeless man accused of stalking tennis star Anna Kournikova has been
ordered to permanently stay at least 1,000 feet away from her if he gets out
of jail.
William Lepeska, who has been held in a Miami psychiatric unit, faces up to
30 years in prison if convicted of two counts assaulting police officers,
resisting arrest and burglary.
He also faces charges of stalking, indecent exposure and criminal mischief.
Lepeska said he switched his love to Kournikova after being snubbed by Spice
Girl Melanie Brown.
The 40-year-old, who once stabbed a sleeping college student, admitted
swimming nude across Biscayne Bay, bound for Kournikova's £2.5m (?3.6m)
estate, last month.
He was arrested when he turned up on the pool deck at the wrong house and
started yelling, "Anna! Save me!"
Kournikova testified: "I was absolutely shocked and fearful, and I was very
much concerned for my safety.
"It was very frightening and scary and just knowing there is someone out
there who's obsessive."
She said she has hired bodyguards for the first time and added security at
her home since Lepeska's arrest.
The 23-year-old Russian athlete - known more for her looks than her play on
the court - sought civil restraining order after Lepeska sent her six
sexually explicit letters plus e-mails to her website since August.
In one letter, Lepeska explained that if they "were lovers we would have no
need for other people, food or water", according to court papers.
Lepeska served a Wisconsin prison term for stabbing a man sleeping in a
university student union coffee-house and telling police he was "a slave to
an evil that he could not escape" in 1995.
Before court convened, Lepeska said he was in love with Spice Girl Melanie
Brown for five years and repeatedly wrote her, "but finally I said the heck
with her, moving on to greener pastures".
Lepeska acknowledged past mental illness at the hearing, where he acted as
his own lawyer.
"I thought Anna possibly had some sincere regard for me," he said. "I had
all sorts of delusional assumptions about Anna."
When the judge concluded Lepeska showed "stalking behaviour", he interrupted
to say: "Proper courting behaviour."
After he was told contact with Kournikova was not allowed, Lepeska lashed
out at the judge and her "Mafia accent".
He said he may pursue an insanity defence in his criminal case.

The stars seem to find it a lot tougher than most of us to make the split
stick. An unexpected change of heart, a quick canoodle - and suddenly it's "I
Love You, Take Two."
Some of these hot-to-cold-to-hot-again affairs eventually wind up in a trip to
the altar, as in the case of "Newlyweds" Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.
Others just keep going around and around in the same romantic circles.
Here's a look at some star couples who are taking a second - and sometimes
third and fourth - chance at an old romance.
Pam Anderson & Tommy Lee
The tattooed, bad-boy rocker and Playboy pin-up have made practically a second
career out of breaking up and getting back together, and breaking up and...
Well, you get the picture.
But what can you expect from sizzling lovers who tied the knot on the beach in
Cancun, Mexico - after a five-day courtship - wearing only their bathing suits?
And the wedding bands? Matching ring-finger tattoos.
Since that day in 1995, there have been three wedding ceremonies, two sons,
countless separations, an infamous sex tape, charges of spousal abuse, a
divorce and a bitter custody tug-of-war.
Tommy even served time in jail for kicking the ex-"Baywatch" star, and in 2002,
she accused him of giving her hepatitis C when they shared a tattoo needle.
Along the way, she had an on-again, off-again engagement to another musician,
Kid Rock.
But that's another story.
Last month, Pam, 36, and 41-year-old Tommy - who attend their sons' soccer
games together - were seen cuddling at an animal-rights event in Florida, and
sources were betting a Vegas wedding was in the works.
"There's definitely a lot of love and history between Tommy and me," Pam says.
"We're crazy about each other - always have been, always will be."
Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey
When MTV's "Newlyweds" began dating in 1999 - she opened for his boy band's
summer tour - he soon realized she was the one.
"Right after we met, I said, 'I'm gonna marry that girl,'" Lachey says. Which
is a good thing, since the sexy blond announced to the world she planned to
remain a virgin until her honeymoon.
But by April 2001, the couple called it quits, blaming dueling career
commitments and her need to do a little growing up.
After 9/11, they realized they didn't want to live without each other and
patched things up.
In October 2002, they tied the knot in a lavish wedding - held in front of 350
guests at the bride's church in Austin, Tex.
Soon after, Jessica published "I Do," a how-to book teaching budget brides how
to achieve a dream wedding just like hers (minus the pricey Vera Wang, natch).
The ditsy missus, 23, recently showed her appreciation for her handsome hubby
by tossing him a surprise 30th birthday party, at which she jumped out of the
cake and sang breathily to him, Marilyn Monroe-style.
Russell Crowe & Danielle Spencer
The "Master and Commander" star and his singer/actress bride - who both sported
custom-made Armani to swap vows last April - met in the late '80s, when both
were trying to make it in music.
They continued to date on and off during the '90s and even co-starred in the
1992 flick "The Crossing."
But they put the romance on ice when he and then-married Meg Ryan hooked up on
the set of 2000's "Proof of Life." Now Crowe - who also had been linked with
Nicole Kidman after her split from Tom Cruise - has swapped his hard-partying,
bar-brawling ways for quiet domesticity with 33-year-old Dani.
In December, she gave birth to the duo's first child, a boy named Charles
Spencer.
"Dani has been very patient ...which I thank her for," the 40-year-old Oscar
winner says. "I feel a great need to wake up with her as many days of my life
as I can."
Britney Spears & Colin Farrell
The wild-child pop star and the bad-boy actor sparked a flashbulb feeding
frenzy last year when they showed up hand-in-hand - and lip-to-lip - at the
premiere of his flick "The Recruit."
Hotel trysts reportedly followed - and Britney, 22, called 27-year-old Farrell
a "good kisser."
But the love - ahem, lust - affair soon fizzled.
She kept busy smooching Madonna, and marrying - and quickly divorcing -
childhood pal Jason Allen Alexander during a Las Vegas booze binge.
Meanwhile, Farrell became a dad - ex-girlfriend, model Kim Bordenave gave birth
to son James last September. He also spent his free time off the set of the
upcoming epic movie "Alexander the Great" cozying up to sexy co-star Angelina
Jolie.
But before long, lightning struck again for the chart-topping quickie bride and
the lady-loving leprechaun.
Us Weekly recently reported that they were "up at the Beverly Hills Hotel"
during breaks on the set of her upcoming video, "Everytime."
Naomi Watts & Heath Ledger
The "21 Grams" beauty, 35, and her fellow Aussie, 25 - who made the older
woman/younger hunk combo trendy before Demi ever locked eyes with Ashton - met
on the set of "Ned Kelly" and played the dating game for 16 months.
Rumors of an engagement swirled, but they called off their steamy affair last
October, citing busy, far-flung careers.
It was a short break - the hot-to-trot twosome couldn't keep their distance -
and one month later were back in each other's arms.
Since their reunion, they've been spied lounging side by side on the beach in
Sydney, and checking out multimillion-dollar love nests in Sydney's suburbs and
in Hollywood.
Ed Burns & Christy Turlington
The "Saving Private Ryan" star and supermodel-turned-designer-of-yoga-gear have
been on a romantic roller coaster since meeting at a 2000 charity event in the
Hamptons.
They were originally scheduled to tie the knot in Europe one month after the
9/11 attacks.
But the New Yorkers put the festivities on hold, and before long the
actor/director, 36, was spotted wooing beautiful women at a host of hot spots.
All that was water under the bridge when they exchanged vows last June in a
Catholic ceremony in the 35-year-old catwalk queen's hometown, San Francisco.
The glam factor was high thanks to her custom-made John Galliano gown and
choice of escort to march her down the aisle: rocker pal Bono.
Now the Burnses are cooing over baby daughter Grace, who made her debut in
October.
Leonardo DiCaprio & Gisele Bundchen
These two hooked up in the spring of 2000 and have managed to keep out of the
spotlight as much as is possible for a romantic combo with this high a star
quotient.
Wedding rumors soon followed, but the two threw cold water on the buzz when
they decided to go their separate ways.
Absence soon made their hearts grow fonder, and sparks reignited last summer,
when the curvy Brazilian visited her "Titanic" hunk in Canada, where he was
filming "The Aviator," in which he plays Howard Hughes.
The 29-year-old actor and his 23-year-old bombshell were recently spotted
touring South America, touching off rumors that DiCaprio had popped the
question and was trying to get better acquainted with the Bundchen brood.
Enrique Iglesias & Anna Kournikova
The tennis pinup and the sexy singer started making beautiful music together
when she starred in the steamy video for his hit 2002 single "Escape."
The 22-year-old Russian bombshell soon shelled out $5 million for a Miami Beach
mansion in the same neighborhood that Iglesias, 28, calls home.
But court and concert commitments drew them to opposite ends of the globe.
It probably didn't help when an Aussie model told a London tabloid that she had
a sizzling encounter with Iglesias in a bathroom.
Adding fuel to the fire were comments he made in an interview (at the time, the
two had been dating for over a year, and there were rumors they were engaged).
"I haven't found a girlfriend I want to be with more than a week at a time," he
said. "And I haven't had a steady girlfriend for the last five years."
Anna wasted no time licking her wounds.
In February, she was spotted getting cozy with the Bronx Bombers' most eligible
bachelor, Derek Jeter, at a Miami hot spot.
The date obviously got Iglesias' attention.
One month later, reports surfaced that he and Kournikova - who were recently
snapped in sexy clinches on the beach in Bali - had become engaged with a $5.5
million rock.

Alleged Kournikova Stalker Arrested
A homeless man has been charged with stalking Anna Kournikova, after
allegedly swimming nude across Florida's Biscayne Bay searching for tennis
star's home. William Lepeska, 40, was arrested on January 30 in Miami Beach
after he allegedly swam 200 yards in a hunt for Kournikova's $5 million
waterfront home. The man was arrested after he got out of the water and
ended up in a neighbor's pool area three houses down. Police say Lepeska
screamed, "Anna! Save me!" as he was taken away. Lepeska, who has 'Anna'
tattooed on his right arm, was hostile at the police station and was subdued
with pepper spray and a baton, say police. Lepeska allegedly bombarded the
Russian stunner with letters and emails and "made several alarming
statements" indicating he believed the tennis star was expecting him,
according to police. A publicist for Kournikova says, "(The incident) had
caused Anna to be very concerned and fearful for her safety." He also was
charged with exposing himself in the presence of a child after the young
daughter of another neighbor saw Lepeska laying in a "very lewd manner" by
the pool. A Miami-Dade County Court judge issued a restraining order against
Lepeska, who is currently being held in lieu of $26,000 bail. He is due back
in court today.

Tennis stars dare to bare

FOR most red-blooded males, the thought of Anna Kournikova cavorting for the
cameras in exotic locations is the stuff of fantasy, although not anymore.
The Russian tennis star is now visible in all her glory after stripping down
to her bare essentials for this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition,
and so too is colleague Serena Williams.
It's perhaps Williams's images, though, that will generate most gasps of
disbelief, with Kournikova having stripped down many times before.
Williams is captured in a number of poses, distorting her physique into the
type of positions usually reserved for the casts of Snoop Dogg or 50 Cent
film clips.
The special issue has become an institution synonymous with its top shelf
stable mate Playboy, giving kudos to its models, which last year included
Australia's Sarah O'Hare.
It is the 40th edition of the American magazine's swimsuit issue, and
alongside the athletes, there is a generous dose of "real" models, including
this year's cover girl Veronica Varekova.
The 26-year-old Czech beauty made her name in the Victoria's Secret lingerie
catalogue, as did Tyra Banks, who also features in a section labelled "SI's
Swimsuit Hall Of Fame".
Kournikova also appears on the cover, and it is likely that she will
generate an enormous amount of sales for the magazine's publishers, despite
her disappearance from the tennis scene through injury lately.
When she graced the cover of the Christmas 1999 issue of Australia's Inside
Sport in similar "summertime" poses, it sold like hot cakes and was, at the
time, its biggest issue.

That was almost exclusively owed to the interest of advertisers keen to ride
the coattails of the issue's correctly predicted popularity.
Disconsolate women seeking the attentions of partners engrossed in the
magazine's "articles" as Valentine's Day approaches need not despair,

US sporting hunks Eddie George (American Football), Alex Rodriguez
(baseball), Tony Hawk (skateboarding) and Petr Nedved (ice hockey) are also
featured in photographs with models or partners.
The issue will provide welcome "exposure" for both Kournikova and Williams
since injuries have scuppered their tennis opportunities.
Williams, who failed to defend her title at this year's Australian Open, has
not played since winning Wimbledon in July 2003 after receiving surgery to
correct a problem with her left knee.
Kourikova, who has yet to win a title on the women's WTA Tour, has had a
niggling injury to her back for some months.
