The role Sean Young lost out on in that way was the role of Vicki Vale

Perfectly.
Though Sean has been exonerated of the actions James Woods accused her
of, she's still a head case. She's been quoted telling reporters that
one has to scare people in Hollywood in order to get things done. Well,
maybe she meant scare them away, I don't know.
Sean over-reacts, distorts, and alienates. She IS a tease, and then
castigates men for simply asking her out after suffering her barrage of
overly flirtatious gestures.
