Tyra Banks Goes Undercover as a Stripper
T-Pain speaks for a number of men in his latest single In Love with a
Stripper, and now Tyra Banks wants to find out the reason behind the
obsession.
Although February sweeps is a done deal, Wednesday's episode of The Tyra
Banks Show, (March 1) will feature the host going undercover as a stripper
in a topless club...as research.
"So many women have emailed me and I've personally had so many conversations
with my friends who are frustrated with the men in their lives spending so
much time and so much money in strip clubs, she explains.
I dated a guy that went to these places all the time, and he would say
nothing was happening. And I was like, 'Yeah right.'"
On the episode, Banks will sport a wig, fake teeth, prosthetic nose, and
gobs of makeup to transform herself into a dancer named "Chanel."
"When I found out the majority of business is from males from married homes,
I wanted to go inside the minds of the men who frequent these clubs, she
continues.
I wanted to see and hear why they went. And the only way to do that was to
go undercover and see for myself. One thing I wanted to do is actually go up
on stage and dance. I wanted to look into those men's eyes and know what
[they are] getting out of this."

Banks' first kisser turns up on her show
13/12/2005 - 14:46:10
Retired supermodel Tyra Banks had the shock of her life when, on her US talk
show, she came face to face with the first boy she kissed.
Chris Bravo was just 16 when he locked lips with his schoolpal Tyra - and
admitted he still has vivid memories about his first smooch. He appeared on
her daily show as part of a 'firsts' special programme.
He told Tyra: "I just remember I was very excited." However, the
model-turned-TV-presenter had some bad memories about her young romance,
telling Chris that he broke her heart by leaving her for Sabrina, the girl
that lived across the street from the school.
She also revealed her school love's first kiss left a lot to be desired.
"The tongue was a little too much," she said.

If being a black female is such a home-run in the talk show business
why is it that in 20 years, Oprah's the only black woman who has
managed to avoid getting cancelled? Advertisers wish to reach both the
widest and richest demographics and blacks are not only much less
wealthy than whites on average, but they are only 12% of the
population. Being black and female is demographic poison as proven
statistically by the fact that Oprah's the only black woman to succeed
as a solo talk show host?
She's very left-wing. She transformed Donahue's one little
progressive talk show into an entire idustry of provactive TV that
brought gays, lesbians, and transsexuals out of the shadows and paved
the way for shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Will and
Grace. Read FREAKS TALK BACK by Yale sociologist Joshua Gamson to see
how the tabloid talk show industry so brilliantly popularized and
revolutionized by Oprah in the 1980s created much needed media
visibility for sexual non-comformists and has created so much social
acceptance for gays that they're coming out of the closet in record
numbers younger and younger.
>
It proves that if you want to reach the highest level of success in
the entertainment business, you have to appeal to the white suburban
demographic like Elvis did for rock and Eminem did for rap. Being black
is a demographic disadvantage.

Actually she's responsible for the most socially progressive
revolution in the history of media. Prior to Oprah, Donahue was the
only progressive show on TV. After Oprah reinvented his genre and
pushed it to more provocative extremes and proved how much money you
could make, the most powerful medium in the world's leading country was
bombarded with thousands and thousands of hours of taboo breaking
progressive television reaching tens of millions of homes in the
heartland of America. Read the scholarly text COMING AFTER OPRAH:
CULTURAL FALLOUT IN THE AGE OF THE TV TALK SHOW. Time magazine named
her one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
She can be very outspoken on progressive issues. Just yesterday she
claimed the church was hypocritical. A few days earlier she talked
about the problem of anal sex without condoms in the gay community.
She's done shows about oral anal sex among teens. She played the
therapist on Ellen's Coming outshow. She devoted an entire show to the
loss of her openly gay designer's partner in the tsunami and generated
boatloads of sympathy. She vowed never to eat another burger causing
beef prices to hit their lowest level in ten years
> about real problems, so he is safe to sign on as a corporate sponsor.
He's also a damn good basketball player and Oprah's also the most
talented entertainer in TV history. And hardly any of the big-time
performers speak out on controversial issues. Johny Carson was safe,
Jay Leno is safe, David Letterman is safe.

She's not left-wing. She's fat, african-american and a woman. A home

If she were left-wing, no network would touch her.

This argument fails on SO many levels. Who has the time...
The music analogy has nothing to do with Oprah's success.
She's "successful" because she has proven that she won't "rock the
boat" politically or be outspoken on progressive issues. Advertisers
know she's safe.
Michael Jordan (post sports career) is the same. He won't speak out
about real problems, so he is safe to sign on as a corporate sponsor.

Actually she's demographic poison. An unmarried childless left-wing
black woman over 50 is just about the worst demographics for attracting
the widest possible following attractive to TV advertisers.
Just ask Whoopi Goldberg, Queen Latifa, Rolonda, Ananda Lewis, Marsha
Warfield, Gayle King Bumpus, Iyanla, Tempest, and all the other black
women who
have tried to host a talk show (only to be quickly cancelled) how much
of a demographic advantage being black is in a country where only 12%
of the population's black and suburban whites are the demographic
advertisers want.
Besides Oprah name one other black woman who has succeeded as a solo
host of a talk show that was syndicated or aired on major networks.
Even the new Tyra Banks show is fighting an uphill battle.
One reason Eminem and Elvis were the greatest pop sensations of their
generation was because they appealed to the massive lucrative white
America demographic while blacks who pioneered those genres of music
were unable to succeed.
We would have no problem with someone like Bill Clinton being treated
like royalty though he's far more of a demographic homerun than Oprah
could ever hope to be. He's a white Southerner so he appeals to whites
and rednecks, he's a democrat so he appeals to blacks, but he's a
popitical moderate so he appeals to undecided voters and he's a husband
and father so he appeals to the middle America.
In fact notice how virtually the only demographic types that appeal to
a wide enough audience to get elected president are white males from
the South, so that should tell you a little about what a demographic
homerun is. And when women or blacks can appeal to wide enough audience
to succeed politically they are Republicans because that helps balance
out their race and gender (i.e. Thatcher, Clarence Thomas, Collin
Powell, Condi Rice)
And yet Oprah has become both the Queen of all Media and the world's
ONLY black billionaire as an empathetic socially progressive black
female. You have to be a marketing genius to pull that off.

Klum's Special Treat to Banks
Heidi Klum gave model pal Tyra Banks a special gift just before she strutted
the catwalk for the last time earlier this month -- a $5,000 pair of
earrings.
The Mouawad gems are based on the design of the $12 million fantasy bra
Banks modeled for lingerie firm Victoria's Secret this year.
That wasn't the only send-off gift Banks received after her final Victoria's
Secret Fashion Show appearance -- her fellow models joined forces to
encourage the firm to let her take home the angel wings she wore at the

A thrilled Banks says, "It's a really big deal because you never get to take

Banks' Emotional Goodbye to Her Modeling Career
Supermodel Tyra Banks had an emotional family reunion on her US talk show
last night when her mother surprised her to mark the end of her career as a
model. Banks staged a special show to pay tribute to her years as a top
model, featuring highlights from her last catwalk appearance - a Victoria's
Secret Fashion Show earlier this month. And then she invited her mother,
Carolyn London, an occasional guest on the show, to quiz her about her
career. But London had other ideas - she'd invited her daughter's family and
friends to join her on the show. Banks was so overcome with emotion as her
father, brother, grandfather, grandmother and numerous friends walked out
onto the studio stage, producers had to cut to commercials. There were more
tears at the end of the program as stars like Seal, Ricky Martin and her
one-time rival Naomi Campbell sent the model good luck wishes and she
debuted images from her final catwalk session, which will air on the
Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in America on December 6. She said, "I can't
believe that I'm finally doing this but it's time for me to hang up my wings
and me hanging up my wings does signify me hanging up my entire modeling
career."

Claws Out: Tyra Vs Naomi
We know that Tyra Banks is not afraid to stand up for herself.
She's already talked tough to wannabe supermodels and confronted porn
actress Tyra Banxxx over using her name.
But her latest encounter, with fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell, is her
biggest stand so far.
Apparently ending their 14-year feud, Tyra invited Naomi onto her TV chat
show.
But instead of cosying up for a girly chat on the sofa, Tyra got straight to
point, accusing Naomi of sabotaging her modelling career in the 90s.
She said: "I was tired of having to deal with you... I was tired of the
pain, I was tired of the comparison.
"I was tired of constantly hearing that I got cancelled from this job or
that, or hearing that this photographer was called, or that magazine was
called and (told) not to use me."
Naomi denied that she had been involved in calls to have Tyra dropped from
jobs and asked for proof - which Tyra said she had plenty of - she just
wouldn't name names there and then on her show.
The New York Daily News printed a statement from Tyra after the encounter.
"The press had cast Naomi and (me) as rivals before we ever met each other.
"Back then there were ten top models... but there was an unwritten rule that
only one of them could be black... And Naomi was that one black girl."
In the show America's Next Top Model presenter Tyra also says: "One of the
reasons I wanted to do this show is because sisterhood is so important to
me. I feel like women hate each other. We're jealous and it has to stop."
With these two feisty ladies involved, we're not sure that we've heard the
last of this row.
